I don’t see the big deal with wishing people well by whatever tradition they hold to and that being received as such. Happy Holidays is inclusive, so that’s nice and makes sense for stores and such. I’ll accept Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Festivus, whatever floats a person’s boat. The spirit of the greeting

The idea that the majority is somehow persecuted always confuses me. Like, oh how brave! You are standing up for something that half of the country already fervently defends and half of the country doesn’t give half a crap about! What a glorious stand! You are exactly the same as those Christians the Romans didn’t

Once you pay for a Randy Newman song, you’re damn well going to use it.

THOU SHALT NOT DISS MIKE POST THEME SONGS FROM THE 1980S.

Actually, that reminds me of another theme song I hated: the third-season revamp of the Veronica Mars theme. “We Used to Be Friends” is already a deeply melancholy song; doing a slowed-down bummer remix doesn’t make it more melancholy, it just makes it obvious and annoying.

I have to admit I like the opening to Dead Like Me, although it definitely doesn’t match the tone of the show.

Yeah, I can definitely look back at some of my experiences as a teen/young man and recognized I was an asshole. Not like full on sexual assault or anything, but similar “nice guy” “why don’t you like me” bullshit.

It’s not that I hate the song on its own merits, but Randy Newman’s “It’s a Jungle Out There” was an unnecessary and inferior replacement for Monk’s original, delightful instrumental theme. I think the show had a lot more silly or middling episodes under the Randy Newman theme whereas it was a really great

Can they next cover the “Silver Shamrock” song?

Are you saying this guy gets off on jerking it in potted plants?

“The unfortunate move earlier in the episode. When Elliot announces she “doesn’t love people who love her,” it’s a weirdly patronizing move that puts Angela in the realm of the hoary “I deserve her love, but she doesn’t do the right thing.”

I think the difference is that the slippery slope to no more guns at all was something that wasn’t actually happening, and that neither major political party was trying to do.

Trump, on the other hand, isn’t a slippery slope. He’s the shit-slathered punji pit at the bottom of the slippery slope we all went down last

I finally jumped on the sour beer train when I tried a grisette/saison kinda hybrid thing. It wasn’t too sour and the barrel aging gave it a nice fruitiness without too much sweetness. I guess I can enjoy a sour beer now in between other things.

Where’s the Blade Runner 2049 spoiler space?

One reason we can lay off the “well, it’s about fucking time” stuff. It really doesn’t matter why or how someone comes around to reason, it’s enough that they do. Everything else is just patting yourself on the back for seeing it earlier. (Not saying “you” as in you, BO, just in general.) Someone recently said that

The funny thing about new brewers trying to launch their brewery with a light lager is that light lagers are really hard to make consistently. There is nowhere for the mistakes to hide. It is like trying to play drums just using a snare and a high hat. A really good drummer can make that sound great. A new drummer

Brandon Bird is fantastic.

Make a strong pitcher of margaritas, take it to your bud-hole, and do yourself a favor and watch season 1 of Good Place before watching season 2 which is probably just going to be Okay Place.

Yes! It is such a fun (and short) ride! Just watch it!

Yeah, second that. You have to watch the first season, or the second season won’t be nearly as fun (plus it ruins the fun of the first season).
