That’s entirely possible. May also be why I hate Elf so much after so many years of everyone telling me how good it is and finally watching it.

Two of many local examples:

I’m a bit of a fussy contrarian on this.  My first instinct when someone makes me food is to be a little insulted (it’s not a rational reaction, just my knee jerk).  I would much rather feed myself.

It’s weird... I started curing a brisket flat before all this started.  So in the middle of the crisis, I’ll be smoking a big hunk of luxurious pastrami.  Kind of feels a little like I’m cheating on this hunkering down thing.

I finally got around to watching it about a year ago.  Woof.

Just after posting this comment last night, I watched the second season episode with Ariana Grande with  sliced pickle fairy wings where he signs the papers.  Effing wrecked me.

I started watching Kidding- its the saddest, but most entertaining show with puppets I can think of. And I get at least two genuine laughs out of each half hour.

I am somewhat glad I already have a vacuum sealer and deep freeze, filled with brisket, ribs, chicken wings, frozen stock, etc.  We bought an extra dozen eggs and a nice brisket, and I might try to get a bag of coffee beans (I didn’t realize I was almost out until this morning).  My cellar is already stocked with

That it's never what you're expecting that takes you out. My job is not secure, the economy is going to crash, this virus is canceling everything. Something worse will come along that makes everything insignificant.

To be fair, I wasn’t really excited about anybody in the primaries, but Pete seemed nice enough, if a little measured.  Which didn’t seem like a bad alternative to the status quo.

Mayor Pete- simultaneously boring, inexperienced, incompetent, and a secret Republican CIA plant undermining truth, justice, and the American way single-handedly. Apparently.

Oh, maybe I should road trip to Osseo for some pie at the Norske Nook... why does Wisconsin pie so well?

Am I the only one who grew up with custard pie?  I swear, people either look at me like I made it up or have heard of it, but never had it before.  That, cherry, apple with cheddar, and huckleberry are my top pies.

No, no no... it’s not hoarding, it’s electing to inject money into our struggling economy by buying massive amounts of random stuff.  Patriotic, if you really think about it.  (/s if that weren’t obvious enough).

“Our chicken is so good, you’ll want to lock yourself in a room with it for two weeks straight and not risk having to share with anyone.”  Wendy’s next tweeter?

Ahh, that makes sense- we all still feel like we’ve lucked out though.  Not even any flooding as everything’s melted away.

20 degrees and only 8 inches of ice... it’s been a miserably warm winter in these parts.

I generally don't eat dinner on weeknights. I'm more a "let's flex and do something flashy on a Sunday."  I'm currently curing a brisket flat to smoke into pastrami (Thanks John Carruthers on this very site).  I will say I'm way more into technique over recipes.  Heck, even skills- things like how to knead dough are

The Chalupa Centipede?

I lost HBO for a while, but now have it back.  I totally skipped season 2.  I’m now kind of tempted to try to power through it quickly- hopefully it isn’t a complete mess to follow if watched quickly.
