Poor public image means less people want it means less people will buy them so, in a round about way, it can actually change things. Even though most of the people complaining aren't buying, a huge part of super car sales is public image.

The electric and gas motors hit peak power at different RPM, so it never quite hits that 250 number.
The electric and gas motors hit peak power at different RPM, so not quite.
Probably won't fit with the added electrical stuff.
I would love to see these things broken down into categories. There is a huge difference between a transmission failure, AC failure, and a broken radio.
I tend to consider APR as somewhat parallel to Toyota's TRD or MOPAR aftermarket parts. While not directly associated with VW, many VW dealers are also the local APR dealer, and I've even seen official VW of America publicity booths sporting cars with APR tunes. It's certainly not the same as having that performance…
I'd bet a lot/most of the trucks down there are just 2WD, and thus even more screwed than your average car :p
How would it at all make sense to use the BRZ engine for that? Did you forget about the STI?
You do realize that the Boxster and the 911 are two very different cars, right? The Boxster is both slower and significantly less nice to be in than its big brother.
No way, an ad that isn't totally accurate? Next you're gonna tell us that a Rogue can't actually jump a train, or that Muppets can't actually drive a Highlander.
It's AOTD. They've been around for almost as long as this site, and their whole point is to be more fun than useful. Of course it's fluff :P
No no no no no don't EVER tell ncasolo you don't like the pricing model. He doesn't like that.
The real issue is that it was a .gif, so it auto-played when you clicked the article.
No, the extremities of the car are supposed to dissolve. The safety cage itself is supposed to stand up to anything. It being damaged is a HUGE concern.
A warning about the auto-playing video would've also been nice.
That's less of a "but" and more of an "also"
