Tangentially related: If the BladeGlider does make it to production, I wonder how many people will crash theirs within the first few months of ownership. The pros have enough difficulty getting used to the Deltawing's silliness, imagine what's going to happen when Dr. Mid Lyfecrisis, M.D. gets his hands on something

Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiffyiffyiffyiff

Yiffyiffyiffyiffyiffyiffyiff

Uhhh, I think you replied to the wrong person :P

Oh go yiff yourself or whatever it is you furries do

There is a power bias, but I'm not sure how much that comes into play when the car only has 150hp. Plus, I'm sure it will apply to the WRX as well.
I was more trying to make the point that while CVTs can be faster in theory, that benefit has yet to be translated to any production car that I know of, and I doubt that

The body mods are so tasteless Mansory would reject them, only the top half of the interior at all matches the Ghia it's attached to while the bottom half is straight out of the 944, and the front suspension came out of a pickup truck.

Well, no offense, but I don't think Malaysia is really a key market for the WRX ;)

This. I don't think Petrany quite understands how goddamn expensive some VWs can get. The common ones are pretty affordable, but when one becomes desirable it quickly becomes REALLY desirable.

That's actually a pretty reasonable price for a 23 window Bus. Those things are insanely desirable now, even more so than the Westies. Same goes for the R32. That's actually a pretty reasonable price for a clean example with 75k miles on the clock.

The only car I was allowed to drive in 1999 was a Cosy Coupe, old man :p I have a long-standing goal with one of my friends to successfully tandem drift the S-curve on live TV (via traffic cam). That could be a while though, since my car's a front-driver and his car is just a wish and a dream.

The old S curve was before my time, but the current one is plenty fun for my tastes. Granted, there's always too much traffic to try anything when I'm on it :P

My first car, a 2002 Beetle, I named Eli. My current car, an 03 GTI, doesn't have a formal "name", but I did give it the title Schnitzel Spaceship since it's a bit of a German rice rocket with its muffler and tint and whatnot. Not that I'm complaining, it's one hell of a good time behind the wheel.

For a performance-focused car, a hybrid system is clearly (probably) the best. Being able to use performance-oriented electric motors to supplement already powerful gas powerplants has excellent potential for incredibly fast & efficient vehicles. That being said, a hybrid setup in a more back-to-basics sports car like

VW's Autostick is even better. Same thing, but with one less gear. I have a friend with one on his Beetle. He doesn't drive it anymore because he's lost reverse and now he can't get it out of his driveway.

I dunno, I kinda think you'd be better off with a slightly older truck-frame 4wd van. More rugged, more parts available, etc.

I'm guessing it's probably bagged, otherwise I kinda doubt they could even get it onto the transport truck.

I'm not usually a fan of tuner cars, but I can actually get behind these. I mean, it's not like the vans ever had any style/performance in the first place, so there's nothing to lose. Plus, they're funny in the best possible way.
