Me too
My Ex-wife will never let me forget the time I got a free pop at Taco Bell. I had an ‘89 Chevy S10 base model. 5 speed, no radio, no ABS, rubber floors, and one glorious vinyl bench seat. It took a good 10 minutes for the iron duke to build up a head of steam in the winter and Taco Bell was only 5 minutes away. It was…
None as the driver willingly gave information to the police that wasn’t required.
What state do you live in? We have the right to unreasonable search. If you are not being detained, you are not required to tell the cops a thing. Anything you say can and will be held against you. The driver was initially detained due to a reasonable suspicion of transporting a person illegally. After it was proven…
I’m not sure what your idea of a “big bird” is but anything seagull sized and below in small quantities shouldn’t present much of an issue. The FOD buckets will have to get cleaned out but there likely won’t be any damage to the N1 section. On the plus side, the entire airplane will smell like chicken.
Not a sambar, not as epic, but perfect in every way:
Bad news, Autotrader couldn’t find my dream car. It’s pretty obvious why. What kind of idiot would sell the car in the video...
Damn, that sounds like a great car. There must be a lot of those still running around if they can hold up to stage rally like that. Time to hit Autotrader!
Sorry, I’m so embarrsethed. (Auto correct is now in time out!). Now I need to find my 20 peaces of flare Chotchky’s is really strict on that.
Evo, the approach looked stabilized. Weather is very dynamic. It appears a gust occurred in the flare. Whether it exceeded the xwind capability of the aircraft or not, the PNF was unable to maintain centerline and initiated a go around. I realize it’s not possible to see lateral displacement in that video but from…
Magnox, the auto land on the 73 kicks out the crab in the flair. I’m surprised the bigger Boeings fly a coupled approach uncoordinated. I’ve always done all of the work while entering the flair. I’ve rarely seen anyone introduce a slip prior to 50 feet or so. Is that a technique taught by your company?
Mangox, what you are referring to is called a forward slip. Transport category aircraft routinely do this entering the flair. The likely reason for reestablishment of the crab was because a wind gust caused the ballon which also caused a downwind drift off centerline. End result, go around.
I seriously doubt you are a professional pilot. The Avro isn't a Cessna. The gear sustained virtually zero side load as the aircraft would have begun aligning with the direction of travel if there had been sufficient friction.
He got a floatie likely due to a gust. Once he realized he wouldn’t be in the touchdown zone, he poured the coals to it. It happens. Usually the runways are long enough to deal with a 10+ second 50 foot time. Sometimes they’re not.
That's SOP for the 146/RJ85.
Jason, I take it you have never tracked a street car. Modern belts have inertia reels. If you pull them to full extension, they will ratchet closed and will get as tight as you can suck in your gut (not saying YOU have a gut). It's not a 5 point harness but it's effective for solo events.
