Here’s what C.S. Lewis had to say about something else entirely, ‘cause I don’t read good.” —HTF

It certainly sounds like the character was there to bolster the body count, and who better, but I imagine from Munn’s perspective, that casting is a little too on the nose. Anyway, I don’t think verisimilitude need be strived for when it comes to the Predator’s victims.

Ahh, I thought pederast was gender neutral, basically a pedophile who took action on their desires. Looks like I was playing a little fast and loose. Thanks for the correction.

Interesting. Hopefully I’m wrong and just being alarmist. I don’t think it’s cut and dry though:

I don’t think it’s the vow of chastity that has lead to pedophilia’s rampancy in the church, otherwise we’d see it commensurately with other ascetic religions and such.

I’m curious about this sentiment. People say it so often, and I just don’t see any truth to it. When has anyone’s supposed “martyrdom” actually mattered, past medieval and biblical times.

I think there’s a pretty extraordinary amount of recidivism amongst pederasts. It’s generally not a “heat of the moment” thing, usually, more of a lifelong compulsion.

Since the convicted sex offender was playing a bit role, apparently, as a sexual predator (pun not intended, but whatever), and it was the woman who was playing his ostensible prey who made the producers aware of his prior conviction after she learned about it, it seems to be a smart move.

One needn’t look further than the greys on this very review to see you’re absolutely correct.

Da fuk?

I enjoyed it for what it was when I caught it in the theatre—an inoffensive way to spend an hour and a half. But it’s mediocre to grating in every regard outside of Olyphant and Maggie Q, who are still largely wasted.

I would watch the heck out of that

I feel like the pull quote on that image there wasn’t from a positive review.

Talk about Hipster Contrarianism. The only way Live Free or Die Hard is “good” is in relation to A Good Day to Die Hard. Horrible script, acting, effects—it’s got it all!

Pretty sure he has not. Clearly a very fun, finely adjusted person

That part of the comment clearly refers to astronauts in Earth orbit, and yeah, that’s about a 3 hour tour

Yeah, but it’s Kinja, and that’s where the A.V. Club is stuck, at least until I save up enough to buy it. And better grayed out pics than rape and murder pics

Not kill her. Then nobody would be dead

Let’s focus on Vanessa Marquez. Not me.”

I get a real AvP: Requiem “Use a CGI gore-filled trailer to get suckers into the seats” feel from this trailer, and wouldn’t be surprised if they’re also borrowing the asinine “team up against a bigger villain” route that the original AvP took.
