“How do you reconcile with a party that has no interest in compromise or peace?” by rejecting and ejecting them. Hopefully we’re getting there.

“maybe next season could’ve been a reveal on how the whole previous season was written by Dan to cope with how his wife died of a heart attack.”

That character was incredible. I’m so glad he’ll be free from this shitshow now.

Number 5 is so pointless and boring, I bet VCRs had a hard time just playing the damn thing.

Oh man, I didn’t know he went back to the Rama series. I’ll take your word for it and just forget that he did. Rendezvous made a huge impression on me back when I was just a Kenosha Baby.

Entirely separate entities is really a better way to view them.

“‘Phase Space’ isn’t a terrible episode. It’s also not a particularly great one.”

Seriously. It’s like he saw the news and said, “hey, someone toss me a shovel.”

I’m pretty certain that got answered in the Clarke’s novels, but it’s been so long since I read them—and found them disappointing compared to the film—that I no longer remember. They filled in most to all of the blanks, but with pretty rote sci-fi stuff and little of the quiet wonder of the film.

Like the drug dealers who would watch Scarface and think, “that seems like a good job.”

It’s really why the movie exists, if you ask me. That beautiful moment of clarity there at the typewriter—a calm in the center of a storm.

You also can’t require type stylings be applied to your name, because, well, “the map is not the territory!”

The abrupt end of Dr. Strangelove. “Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!” —smash to credits. Gets me every time.

Stop taking your fist back, Chuck! What a tease.

It’s really disheartening to see so many people pleading to go back to something they’ve forgotten they hated.

That beard appears to be the only thing holding his face on, at this point.

I love DC Cab. It was my fall-asleep-to movie for years.

You have a very distended notion of what constitutes a spoiler. Napoleon dynamite was not in the film. The disintegrating death effect has been a standard trope since before CG even. There were no spoilers. Regardless, it’s the A.V. Club’s decision as to what they consider a spoiler, not yours.

I’m loaded with empathy, I just don’t waste it. Grow up. It’s a site largely focused on talking about movies. This is the biggest movie ever. You are being entirely daft, telling them to protect your precious ignorance against millions of people’s experience with the film. We want to talk about it. You can just not

They’ll be fine
