You deserve to be a Lifehacker editor, taking prescriptive positions like that.

When a majority of your readers, on a site sympathetic to your ostensible viewpoint, who share your interests, call you wrong on a ratio of 9 to 1, I have to conjecture there must be one of three reasons:

Truth! I’m all for reporting on valid criticisms. The guy’s doing a lot of new things, so there’s going to be (and are already) negative things to talk about. That being said, the writers go after anything and everything and spin it as negatively as possible. It’s unprofessional, and quite frankly, makes me believe

Read your own article and ask yourself whether a professional would have written it like that. Hint: the answer is no.

If a very long Spaceballs joke is ‘out of touch’ then I never want to be in touch

Do you actually believe that?

It’s all fact but it’s also an extremely one-sided and weak analysis.

Huh... I thought “Let’s Randomly Insult Musk For Our Weekly Boners” was on Wednesdays.

If there were anymore salt in this post, I’d need some pepper.

I think they say something like this. “All those other people are bad for not addressing the sexual assault going on in the workplace, but we aren’t bad for doing the same thing.”

More or less than Beejoli had to stay silent when a deadspin staffer sexually assaulted her?

I just kind of think that the text buildup and the “whore” at the end, while being a thing that DOES happen irl, went a little far to make Robert the villain of the piece. I would have preferred it left off so people were forced to just think about where they fell without being told who the bad guy was.

I’d feel the

...such a seemingly willful misreading...

“Whenever someone gets aggro over “fellow liberals” I get ready for something somewhat -ist to drop.”

Glad someone wrote this. Chavez’s last line is such a seemingly willful misreading of the Bush’s writing. I’m no Billy Bush fan (does he have fans?), and despise Trump and the malignancy he represents, but the slanting to this is so poorly argued and immediately moot. Avclub could you just try to pretend you have

“Comparing losing his job for encouraging Trump in the interview, even if he did just think it was run-of-the-mill misogyny and not assault, to women who claim to have been sexually harassed or assaulted by a man who’s now the most powerful person on the planet is an incredibly stupid thing to write.”

Or maybe Billy Bush genuinely feels remorse about what happened and wants to try and redeem himself?

“Can you love someone who did bad things?”

Nah, the default (and correct) position to always take is to assume a college kid is full of shit.

Mansplaining is a thing... but it is also a term that is thrown around so frequently in online discussions to try and shut down a guy with an unpopular opinion (no matter how valid) as to be rapidly loosing its usefulness.
