Not Modern Family?
Wolfgang and Amanita, for future reference.
Your sexual hangups and/or homophobia are your own. You didn't complain about the straight sex scenes. Did you even notice them?
Durr durr durr.
That tells us Nomi would have to have been born between midnight and 8 AM Pacific for her (his? not sure how to refer to the pre-transition gender/sex) birth to be on the same day as Sun's. Seoul is 16 hours ahead of San Francisco.
I was just happy they picked a date that made sense no matter how it was written. I (and most of the world) would cringe if the date was only significant when written in the backwards month/day style.
I'm not sure that violates the rules of visiting or changes the rules of representing visiting. When Will visits Jonas in his cell he's told the room feels cold because Jonas knows it's cold to the touch. When Sun visits Riley she describes the taste of the hash as a memory. So maybe it follows that when the visiting…
As I understood it her mother (or aunt?) was offering advice for what to do on their wedding night. Kala said they have the internet for that, which doesn't necessarily mean she watches porn online but that she knows where to find information on sexual positions/etc.
Wolfram? Aneetah?
I read that the orgy scene on the bed in San Francisco was one of the very first scenes shot – at least it was Lito's first scene – so a little fish-out-of-water from the actors is understandable, I think.
The telepathic orgy was was on the best scenes I've witnessed in recent television – I can't even think of something comparable.
I didn't realize at first either, until later on I went to IMDB to see her other credits. I just don't think she's a good actor, but I know the transgender community would have pitched a shit if they'd cast anyone but a transgender person for the role.
Well he is German. They go to orgies instead of church.
What a depressing use of sensate powers.
I didn't even see her inject anything. I need to stop watching Netflix on my computer.
From what I've seen – I'm a few episodes ahead, but not finished – she has decent dramatic chops, but the rest of her delivery comes across as very flat. I was even wondering if it was intentional, perhaps an affectation I'm not familiar with.
Nita/Agyeman kills it in every scene, while Nomi/Clayton keeps coming across as passive and detached. The writing and casting for Nomi is the only real misstep in the series, in my opinion.
Arguably any depiction of non-hetero sex in mainstream media is "revolutionary". How Amanita and Nomi, or Lito and Hernando, have sex are the same-sex equivalents of the straight missionary position, but because hardly anyone shows it, let alone to the same degree of graphic indulgence as they do penis-in-vagina, it…
I missed that Sun was on her period; I thought she was doing one of those pee stick pregnancy tests. I thought her emotions (via Lito) had to do with being suddenly pregnant on the eve of going to prison. I'm a few episodes ahead now and just realized nothing came of that.
Only sending three screeners when the entire series was released on the same day is highly questionable. But a slow burn in this age of marathon watching isn't the same as it was even five years ago.
