I could've bought pretty well any printing of It but insisted on getting that OG paperback because that's how I read it back in the day. Well used at a used bookstore - survived about as well as could be expected, given its thickness and how 30 years and a few owners have treated that spine.

About halfway through Crazy Rich Asians, which I am not into at all - basically Pride And Prejudice type shit (which I hate) mixed with wealth porn (which is fun in the movies, but boring to read). My sister and my mom love this book, and I figured I'd be stepping out of my comfort zone, and…well I am.

In additional news, Children Of Bodom are all like 40 now

Yes, but so are most albums

It always was

Stupid anecdote: I'm a metal lifer but kinda had to be dragged into it kicking and screaming during my middle teens. And yet when I was about ten or so I had a near miss with it, hearing Accept's "Balls To The Wall" and thinking it was totally awesome, saving up my nickels (which took months, an agonizingly long time

I'm pretty wary of don't-change-anything-about-yourself wisdom, as it applies to dating. The only times women are ever even remotely interested in me are during my phases of ass-busting self-improvement.

There was one woman I briefly dated where I wasn't quite sure what more cemented that things weren't going to work out: her desperate, tearful story about her now-in-the-past oxy addiction and how (her side of the story!) her son had basically been abducted by her parents who wouldn't give him back until she signed

My sister was never a big reader herself, but very much wants the kids growing up reading and does all the story-reading stuff you're supposed to do - but she also made a point of curating a large list of books to challenge herself and getting these books, as physical copies, not just to read but to be seen reading by

Loved this show as a teenager; tried re-watching some of it when I was maybe in my late 20's and couldn't connect with it. I wouldn't write off another attempt, another 15 or so years on though.

Is there some definition of "body slam" other than the pro-wrestling sense of it? Because that's all that's coming to mind every time I picture this event.

Ugh, shippers

Queen Amidala was a much beloved elected monarch, though the days after her term were marked with bad decisions and increasing irrelevance.

Don't you even TRY to ruin Barbara Crampton for me, motherfucker.

Oo, nice.

As documented on the cover of Butchered At Birth.

So, wait - before I get my baby chop shop up and running, can I be clear on which parts I can get the most ch-ching for? Because I was banking on the spinal fluid, but people keep telling me that it's most economical to just grind the babies into a slurry and centrifuge it into layers.

I hope not. I hope they both die, choking on their own vomit

This is a weird counterpoint to GB'16 - that one had all these performative announcements that they were never gonna see it, and they openly rooted for it to fail.
