Nothing he did in the context of the time in which he did it was acceptable within the context of the time in which it was done.

THANK you. While it’s possible that the school nurse was just terrible at her job, it’s more likely that Charlie Brooker is horrifyingly ignorant about how emergency contraception works.

Yeah, the package literally said EC or I might not be complaining.

In a Season 5 episode, all online commenters who’ve said “I’d rather X than Y” are given the choice between experiences X and Y.

Those are good points! I guess it would be more accurate to call it a hopeful ending. You’re right, though, they probably were all doomed. She’d get sent to prison, or worse, for killing a billionaire member of the Silicon Valley elite, and however awful of a villain Daly might have been for the Callister crew, it’s

edgy

Overall I liked this episode but that’s not how EC works. It’s not an abortion pill. Those are two different things. And it bugs me that they got that wrong because it plays right into far right fears about EC.

I disagree with the assertion that her words were taken out of context and I also think her second statement does nothing but double down on the stupidity of her first statement. She got defensive in her second statement instead of acknowledging the stupidity of it.

There’s also a possible third group: women who were abused by Weinstein, but sucked it up and dealt with it because they were told it was expected of women in their industry, and now that it’s all coming out, they’re only now allowing themselves to feel angry over their violation. That’s the feeling I got from her

There is nothing more american than a healthy disrespect for the president.

Speaking of lampshading, this episode had a bit too much of it for my tastes. It got really repetitive with how they kept calling attention to the obvious Tommy reveal. It’s not clever. It’s just acknowledging some formulaic plotting. Make the joke and move on.

Simple man, my ass.

I saw Klaus Nomi doing something disturbing with it…
