People who listen to modern hardcore punk. I tried hanging out with a group of people who were way into the scene, even though I knew I hated the genre, I gave them a chance, because they seemed nice and you can't let that shit dictate your life.

The heavy handedness of this song is unbearable, and I feel that the people who enjoy the message of the song view it more as matter-of-fact type lyrics that are blunt and to the point. But for that to work you need to be speaking from a courageous voice, one that is saying something that is hard to say. There's

Good Kid, Kendrick Lamar

But Macklemore wasn't offering anything to the other nominees. All of the other albums nominated are arguably a lot better than the Heist (ok Magna Carta isn't A LOT better, but still better). Just calling out Kendrick like that implies that he thought his only competition was the guy who is very clearly the best

Warren Oakes is the fucking man. His drumming had a really unique and lively feel to it. Even though I really like TDB (White Crosses was ok) the drumming was no where near as interesting without him, and feels bland. Atom Willards fills are cheap and he can barely keep rhythm

Totally agree about rap not being dead. People who say that are clearly only listening to the top 10 rap singles at any given time and don't delve into more interesting stuff like Ka or Run the Jewels. Even with Odd Future's recent boost in popularity they still don't get enough recognition by most people, especially

I agree both are fantastic, and they should both be considered landmarks in hip hop. But to me, Yeezus was considerably more ambitious than Kendrick's album, mostly because it was such a hard left turn from not only Kanye's material but most other rap and hip hop music, especially at his level of ubiquity. Kanye's

Kendricks was great but I feel like it relied on a tried and true format for hip-hop albums. Loads of guest spots and skits that ultimately arent that necessary. Yeezus as an album was better than Good Kid Maad City, even if Kendricks rapping was better than Kanye's
