No one here seems to realize that I know lights are expensive. And yet they put in new, redesigned headlights recently. Okay, so maybe they didn’t have money to cert a new lens. Here are some options off the top of my head.
I’m not saying that Ferrari would share their lights, but one option would be an existing lamp from a car like the 599.
Some people like the comfort of predictability.
Yeah, it would probably have to be bigger, but you’d get more functionality for the weight. It just seems funny to me that the company based on lightness and simplicity explicitly designed their car to have two more tail lamps than necessary.
Probably, but I guess it just depends how light they want to spend.
And carbon fiber is? We all know if you’re buying this car you don’t care what it costs. Losing two tail lights would be a very visual bragging right.

I would have figured four tail lights would be heavier than two. Why not build a reversing lamp and turn signal into the same housing and take the other two out?
