I think the average person on this forum probably could have come up with a more effective way to spend $500M

Never said that. Once again you are way off in left field.
I really hope that was sarcasm :)
Here is a perfect example. You immediately connected a bunch of dots that weren’t even there before because you have a large number of preconceived ideas.
Yah. It's not like they can manufacture their own fuel!
Try shooting at them. The only thing that works really well is a machine gun, and definitely not at longer ranges. RPGs won't work, many ATGMs will have a hard time, even a tank will be hard pressed to hit them, and artillery is out of the question for obvious reasons.
I find to funny that whenever there is a Russian military exercise, there are so many comments about Russia not being able to afford it or that they are wearing out all their equipment or it being a provocation. But if America does a similar drill, the same people are in full support, even if it throwing airframe…
Good point. Lots of carriers were lost in WWII
Lol. True. The Zumwalts are bigger than Ticos, and the Russian Leader Class will be bigger than the Slava class cruisers
Not to mention, but I highly doubt it's missiles (if it carried any, which it doesn't anymore) would be able to hit anything as close as targets in Syria from short distance. I am not sure the minimum range of an ICBM, but it has to be pretty damn far
Agreed. The rear conning tower in awesome.
It’s just a test ship now sadly. We will never see the big Typhoons patrol again.
And it’s a test ship at this point. It only has one operating VLS tube to launch the Bulava missiles.
Right below vegan crossfitters
While we don’t agree on everything politically, I have come to the same conclusion. The Black Sea is a perfect buffer, but little more. Russian Ships would be destroyed in the Bosphorous if they tried to leave in a conflict, and American Ships would be destroyed in the same spot if they tried to enter.
Make that scene from the the Italian Job more interesting.
You really suck at creative thinking. This isn’t a system to through on a R22 who is being rented by novice helicopter pilots. It is for rescue helicopters, military, and marine helicopters.
Actually, anybody who would use these wants them. A guy that rents an R22 on the weekends is not going to be landing on a ship or rough terrain. A rescue helicopter or navy helicopter is going to be using these all the time.
Tupolov wanted to do that with the Tu-160
Really hope the Scorpion gets some buyers. I love jet trainer for some reason.
