Well, it is mainly for protection from kinetic weapons (the Ewoks in RotJ should not have been able to kill with rocks), but the main goal of the armor was life support in pretty much any situation from the vacuum of space to the extreme cold of Hoth to limited fire protection. Also they could relay tactical data

Agreed. Like father like son.

I have been in Delta airspace and had a Blackhawk get pretty damn close to me without a transponder on for me to see. He came from my left wing as I was departing KPRC on runway 3R. Came within about 200 ft before he turned off right and I was turning right as well.

Gotta love the Chieftain.

Or the Tiger II. But I really wish they would have shown a Jagdtiger, the most powerful tank fielded during the war.

Lets try not to start a wildfire.

Going to get pounded to bits if they don't move it

Yah. Out of random curiosity, what is you favorite WWII era fighter and which do you feel is best? I personally love the Hellcat and the Hawker Hurricane (never gets credit).

And I suspect there will be F-35Cs pulling maneuvers that would drop the jaw of an X-31

The armor isn't bad at all, just not the depleted uranium of the M1A2. They always give export variants different names (i.e. K1A1, etc)

I have long held the belief that advanced equipment in the Iraqis hands is a bad idea. The have handled the Abrams terribly, even with training. I am personally ready to stop giving them so much and maybe supply the Kurds

Lol, I forgot about Cuba to at first. I guess Cuba is one of those countries like Moldova where you kind of forget about it unless you are specifically talking about it. But yes, I would personally love if they did do drills there, even if lawmakers and media freaked out. But then again, I am a big fan of those close

My first thoughts:

Weird one for all the submariners out there.

I am skunkworks as well!

I also wonder if they ever hav part of the taxiway/ramp under a painted tarp so it looks empty from space

I'm envious. I would love to have part of a rocket as my front lawn! Take that gnome statues next door!

From my understanding, yes. I do not think the Baikonur Cosmodrome has any good water landing sights down range. Which does be the question of where do the regular discarded rocket parts fall.

Don’t get me wrong, I think that the Energia-Buran combo was more logical than the STS, however I do not think that not having SRBs was an advantage or a disadvantage.

Or have had Orion flying on an Ares I by 2014.
