The Unipower GT is my favorite odd-ball English car. It’s the best.

Rented a Renault Logan in Brazil, not a bad car but that engine had no flywheel effect, very easy to stall.(My DD a the time was a manual). Others who drove the car said the same thing. Also rented a Brazilian version of the Panda, nice car too. But yeah, on a fast stretch of highway that thing was turning 4000+ rpm.

I specifically requested a manual transmission rental car while I was in Italy. Instead, they hand me the keys to an automatic XC60. I showed them the original paperwork which had the box for manual checked, and a personal note in the special request category saying, “I want a 3-pedal manual.”

Back in 2001, my family and I went on a trip to the UK for two weeks. You Amuricans are funny. Anyone in Europe can drive stick. Some of my friends are even afraid to drive auto.

While I basically agree, I will add that I'm no fan of Google's business practices either. Apple = pay a lot of money, but at least they *promise* good support and privacy and the devices are good, Google = pay somewhat less money, get very tweakable, but otherwise so-so devices, while they invade the hell out of
