I give everyone the benefit of the doubt that they picked up on the "hit you over your head" Freudian imagery of Alien, and if you don't, well, the directors and art people come and out said that was their intention.

Because Alien had the rape AND the birth, the latter of which is fully the narrative of the female body, and Alien made that narrative a male's. Prison movies are their own genre and certainly deserve to be mentioned, but when I think of a movie that shows the female horror in the male body, I think Alien.

Heavy Rain has scenes of the female protagonist being attacked in her apartment in her underwear, you have to fight them off. It's pretty sexual. In Custer's Last Stand, you get to be the male character who does the actual raping, and of course there are a million Hentai affiliated games with the same premise.

Hey, I watched the trailer too, and it was incredibly uncomfortable. Even the way she struggles away from the dudes simulated a sex act - by attempting to "protect" her, you're still reducing her not to a "bad ass in the making" but making her a virgin pot you have to save from being smashed.

True story - does not matter if you're pretty or a man or young or old or anything. Probably should move away from that narrative that only pretty young ladies get raped/attacked.

Because it's repeating the old narrative, that a woman's fears are reduced to a sexual attack, and that one of the (apparently only) ways for an audience to connect with a woman is to see her vagina under attack. Men are raped in the real world as well, but you would never see that in a game, but for a video game…
