Gabe should run for President. Seems right up his alley considering the terms stop at 2.

Paying taxes means nothing if you’re voting people in to do nothing with those taxes but halt human progress and assure our grand kids starve to death in a climate that can no longer support them.

Except it was caused by the operators deliberately turning off all safety precautions as part of an experiment and then ignoring the warning signs of an impending meltdown.

I wholeheartedly agree. good idea, bad execution

The writing on this article is deeply frustrating and amateurish. An interesting story ruined by the persistent and irritating use of bad writing ‘techniques’. Which is a shame because the writing, when the writer forgets to use some silly trick, is fine and readable. For example just count the use of colon’s in the

This was a curiously satisfying article to read, and one of the better streamer profiles the site has done.

Look, 2016 sucks for a lot of reasons. Donald Trump, Kardashians, North Korea. But a 40 year old British man can stream a game about driving a truck for 5 hours a week and thousands of people watch it, and that gives me hope.

This, and the people who use proper military jargon in Battlefield games, are a fucking treasure. I really hope to play with someone like this someday.

You don’t think ULA’s massive set of facilities spanning all sorts of important Congressional districts has something to do with this? It may be aiming to accomplish something good, but the pork you are looking for is largely making sure no one kills the SLS/Orion.

Auto-GCAS FTW

Did you forget about SpaceX’s Grasshopper? They definitely did do small scale landing tests.

In all fairness, SpaceX solved a helluva lot of “the hard problems” before they were about to “race out with scale”.

This is a very positive step in space launch capacity. Every rocket maker is going to have problems, it’s the nature of the business. By having another player available it can pick up the slack when another falters.

It’s official though, private corporations are going to carve up mars and the rest of space while world governments sit on their hands paralyzed by political stalemates. We’re not far off from a future dominated by a corporate overlord not unlike Weyland Industries.

And now we’ll get to watch two vastly different engineering/testing approaches. Space X raced out with scale, only to address technical hurdles (recovery) late. Blue Origin solved the hard problems first and then scaled.

The first third of this movie is proof that Nick Cage could play the Joker in his sleep and far outdo Jared Leto’s performance.
