Because UPS, USPS, Fedex aren’t gig economy workers, usually. They tend to have jobs that pay better than uber-type workers. They have health insurance.
My grandmother watched me while my mom was at work when I was a toddler, then after school when I was a kid. She always watched General Hospital, and then this. So of course, I did! Here I was, aged 4 to 9, watching all this gothic wonder.
We only had them at holiday times, but so good.
Oh, I know what they are, and where they are, and all that. It’s just that I didn’t have them my first 30 years, living in Philadelphia as a Sicilian-American!

Oh wow. I miss them. We used to get them for my Dad (a Joseph) for his saint’s name day. We stopped after he died in 1992. :(
Yeah, Philly native, Sicilian-American and what? Never heard of them!
Never have I been more sad that I don’t have a waffle iron.

Well, that’s not true. We’ve ALL seen her naked. But he has to rely on photos, like all of us.
Someone should share my pain!
I think they make people look like sharpeis.
There’s never a bad time to share my favorite Marmite recipe: https://www.nigella.com/recipes/spaghetti-with-marmite
Ahhh you’re getting on my favorite add-in! I’ve begun calling Marmite my “umami bomb.” Adding it into pan sauces is also heavenly.
