Unless I fiddled too much with my Exposé settings, I think the default shortcut for "Show desktop" is not Option+F3, but Command+F3.

I wonder what the Wave team thinks about this...

What Kevin doesn't mention in the article is the fact that the Beta removed the manual recognition of TV shows and movies, which means that my House, Lost and Muppet Show episodes are simply not there anymore, and there's no way of adding them back. Poof, 50% of my movie collection went through the window.

Based on this tip, I wrote a tutorial on how to combine this idea with taxonomies and a sensible use of Genres.

@Shimaenaga: would this mean that I'll have better luck this time with the cutscenes of Grim Fandango? :-)

FWIW, I found no problems watching any videos from Europe (Slovenia).

I use OSX's Mail to access my Gmail accounts using IMAP, and then everything gets backed up with Time Machine.

Two words for you, people: Delicious Library. Well, maybe three, if you count OSX as well :-)

@dchall8: I'd recommend having a look at WhereIsIt software, which does a great job of cataloguing stuff (not just SD cards, but those would work just fine). Been using it for a while, and nothing short of Delicious Library (now that I'm on OSX) used to cut it!

@supercollider: that actually gives me an idea. I should take a picture of myself after 'coming back' from deep metidation and see how I *really* look. It does feel special, so I wonder if it looks erm... special too ;)

@Deprong Mori: I hope so! It'd be a flashback straight from the times when LucasFilms made adventure games! Turn off the computer and go to sleep!!!

Kevin: I might be picking nits, but meditation is much more than just breathing in, holding for 3 seconds, and breathe out. Of course breathing exercises ARE the start of most (if not all) meditation techniques, but for fairness' sake I thought I'd chip in.

Heh, after reading this I got fond memories of one utility called "Norton Change Directory" (ncd) which was part of the old-as-sin Norton Utilities for DOS.

@DinahLycus: yes it is, but we live in a time/space when saying prayers is considered crazy stuff!

@purduepete: that's true if your age < 30. I can think, on the top of my head, a few things I'd love to revisit. Bard's Tale I, II & III, all the original SSI Dragonlance franchise (Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn, Dark Queen of Krynn), hell, make it all Interplay graphic adventures and old style,

In case you missed it, you can also add your Blogger profile to your list, and THAT at least worked for me :-)

Now there's a "Gawker Media" Service box there, which you can fill in with your username.

+1 on WhereIsIt.

Just wanted to add that EveryBlock is the new startup of Adrian Holovaty, of [chicagocrime.org] fame (probably the first Google Maps mashup, back when the API was not publicly available). He really gets how to 'go local', so I believe we'll hear more from them in the future.
