For your 70 year old mom, it may make sense to filter her emails using a whitelist. Yes, you'll have to go in an add new emails every time she finds someone new to talk to, but really, how often is that?

Or... If you were using SpamAssassin (an email server-side tool) you probably either wouldn't receive this email (blacklisted address in the envelope) or it would come with "probably SPAM" appended to the subject line.
