From a project management perspective, it “meets the requirements.”

Good to know RAC is so thorough. I’m looking at 997.2's. They are local for me and tend to have some tasty ones for sale...alrhough they are high on price.

It’s embarrassing, but odds are it will happen when playing with cars. The important takeaways are you were in a safe (for others) deserted area and everyone is OK.

They managed to get absolutely nothing right in the front end styling..... it’s so bad I actually feel pity for it.

Have to disagree on the AZ pads. Used a set on my old hardbody. They dusted like crazy for maybe 8k miles and an inner pad lost most of the friction material and scored the rotor. Outer pad looked ok, so it was only a weird feel that made me check.

I don’t understand why you’re worried about telling your grandchildren. I think everyone is aware that you are going to build your progeny from castoff Jeep parts and they will all be equipped with 3 pedals.

As though we needed more proof this world has lost it’s collective mind.

Seats from a ~1990 Mazda 626/MX-6 are popular swaps in some applications and very comfortable.

What I find more maddening is when you find a part you like and the next time you buy the same brand and model, it’s visibly different and performs worse. I found this with brake pads. Finally found a great combination of feel, grab and dust. Bought the same again and they felt numb and didn’t stop nearly as well.

At those volumes it won’t be around much longer anyway. Maybe add power as a hail mary to save it.

The Mom said that the race was the family Christmas present.

Fix both of these up, and you and Freddy race to Moab. Physics will ensure you don’t break any speed limits.

I am going to start recommending my 2004 330i (ZHP) for every “What Should I Buy” because a) I’m too lazy to sell it in a conventional way and b) in every real way, it’s a better answer than a Miata. Yes...I said that.

Sold my 97 a year ago. Amazing utility and it was bulletproof...but not a lot of fun going sideways. Another fun fact, it cost me 1500 in depreciation to drive for a decade and over 100k miles.

God, I can’t believe we recommended a Lexus SUV for someone who just won the fucking lottery

A real shame. Much of the work Edd does can inspire one to get out in their own garage and take on some projects versus building a full restomod between screaming sessions with coworkers. Obviously the Velocity “formula” has been successful, but I tired of it after about 2 seasons of the Orange County Choppers show.

I had an early 2000 model. It was bulletproof to 100k miles. A lot of towing and unkindness.

Damn. Can you change it to next week when I’m there?

This is the truest statement evet made

The actual car from Donnington is still at the Donnington museum....and no hedgehog....at least on the side you can see.
