“Autobahn that Hitler had built to get Nazi troops to the fronts.”
All those clueless left lane drivers remind me of driving on the highways here in Houston
Throwback to when the PT cruiser was classified as a light truck to get around fuel economy regulations, because the remainder of their fleet was so awful that they couldn’t get away with releasing a small car with such abysmal mileage.
Ok, but when are they going to fix how CAFE is calculated, where bigger cars are allowed worse mileage?
“but they have to be taught this behavior”
Gov’t: “50% EV target...”
Internet comments: “The grid can’t handle that! Set realistic goals!”
Gov’t: “...which includes hybrids”
Internet comments: “This is just so you can claim 50%!”
Funny - you missed the point completely.
Funny - I have 401k matching, paid holidays, paid vacation, health benefits and do NOT work for a union. Never have. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I was a union worker, as seniority is taken over hard work, hustling, or performing beyond your peers.
Tesla gives stock options. There’s a lot of low level employees who are very rich. That’s why they voted against a union.
That will be an interesting discussion once some of them are unionized and said union makes large enough campaign contributions.
Yeah, I thought that was a bad take as well.
This is Shilling, after all. He’s not going to stop being an idiot.
Neutral: Really? Gotta say that’s a pretty shitty take for a car blog. It’s okay to do light damage to other vehicles when you’re parking because it’s crowded? If you own nice things, don’t leave them outside because they’re fair game? I live in an arguably equally crowded city and I’m routinely pissed off at the crowd…
I’m not sure how you cum to the conclusion that car companies are hypocritical sacks of shit. I assume it must be frustrating to work for G/O media, as it’s basically a hedge fund takeover, but that doesn’t translate to every company everywhere. There is a reason GM doesn’t make popcorn and that’s because they’d not…
Ships are harder because they are mostly outside U.S. regulatory control- most international shipping is not done by U.S. -flagged ships. You could impose requirements for ships coming into U.S. waters, but you have the issue of needing international shipping for a functioning economy, and the fact that there’s no…
“Fully washed, inside and out”
We had a boat ramp in Nashville like this on the Cumberland River. It tended to get built up with moss, algae, and a few other slippery river bits. Every once in a while, on a nice Sunday afternoon, I’d see the “big boy” wrecker pull up to tug a $70,000 luxo-truck from the muck and mud on the bottom of the Cumberland.
This is one of the many reasons why a $200 boat rental the handful of times a year we want to go out on a boat is far superior to boat ownership.
I live in a city with a massive lake. I sometimes like to go to the boat launch. There is a restaurant overlooking it too. I sometimes like to go for a drink there on a Saturday night and watch the comedy show.
