I went to a Catholic high school, graduated in 1994. My AP European history teacher showed us Blazing Saddles in class, as it was his favorite movie. He was a creative and passionate teacher, the likes of which unfortunately often get crushed today.

If we want to go even further here, GM didn’t even make the batteries which are the cause of the fire.

Interesting point. If the Bolt is allowing them to avoid paying Tesla for credits it probably lessens the blow quite a bit.

Ferrari will get around ICE engine bans by calling theirs external combustion engines :o)

I’m thinking KFM would be likely #2 on the list of movies you cannot make today, right behind Blazing Saddles. Just the scene listing the names of all the contestants in a Fistful of Yen would be an instant ban.

I thought that when I was posting this, I don’t think they’ve ever recalled a Ferrari because of engine fire. Engine fire is just an attribute of Ferraris.

My favorite joke out of that segment:

1st Gear: I also want/wanted the Bolt to succeed... so that were would be an abundance of cheap/undesirable hatchback BEVs available in a few years.

Reminds me of Kentucky Fried Movie where the bad guy is torturing a spy.

1st gear: Tesla got it right, GM got it wrong.

Future losses are always less impactful than current costs. You’ll pay for future losses when/if they happen. You have to show current costs NOW.

The Leaf.

Reverse:

The Bolt has been crazy successful for GM, despite recalls and jounralists complaining that the EUV doesn’t have AWD. The Take in 1st gear is puzzling ‘til I saw who wrote it.

While the Cimmaron was a bit of an abomination, I have to admit, that generation Cavalier actually had some style that betrayed its econo-car purpose. That three-box styling was on point.

Neutral: Never forget that for the rest of their lives the executives that signed off on the Cimarron had to live with that decision.

They didn’t “kill” the electric car, although that was a cute documentary.

Having a series of fire-related recalls undermines it all.”

Reverse: My uncle was an ATC in the Air Force when that happened. When Reagan fired all of the private sector ATCs, he had the AF send in their guys to pinch-hit. My uncle was sent to Detroit. It’s the closest he’s ever gotten to being sent into combat.

Can you still call this ridesharing when the company owns and maintains the fleet? This a taxi service, right? Not in a “blurs the line and is effectively a taxi service” way, but in a literal “this is indistinguishable from a taxi service” way.
