Judging from your comment, it doesn’t seem like you’ve played Witcher 3. I haven’t played a more immersive game in a long time. Witcher 3 is incredibly polished, even more impressively so due to its size.

I’m sorry but while it’s nice to have mindless vastness it’s far better to have a polished, WELL DESIGNED/DIRECTED game. More is not always better.
Basically the poster child on how to NOT develop a game.
There’s an easy way to tell why you’re fundamentally mistaken: GTA V was the highest/fastest selling game in a generation.
So basically this post is the poster child of how to have a shitty opinion and decide it's important enough to post on the Internet for all to mock.
You know, you could have just said “I haven’t played the game” and conveyed the exact same “input” without all the rambling.
GTA V was the closest thing to a living visual single player world when it was released and arguably still is now. It’s beautifully crafted and is probably the most meticulous piece of software I’ve ever seen.
Hey, someone who hasn’t played The Witcher 3!
Have you even played the game, son? Because you sound like you have no idea what you are talking about.
You’re demanding less for your money?
Oh look, someone who doesn’t know what they are talking about.
I said “shit” aloud when I got to Skellige and saw how big the map was. Then I sailed a boat over to the island where the master armorer tools were, but had to swim halfway because my boat got sunk by harpies.... games are fun.
Witchers. The first Witcher short story came out in 1986 and The Witcher 1, the video game, came out in 2007, two years before Dragon Age: Origins. Dragon Age took a lot of cues from The Witcher, including the Grey Wardens’ Trial and the status of elves as an oppressed minority.
Why are you posting an article filled with spoilers before the game comes out? An article that begs for a conversation and critique has no reader base to participate.
The beauty of the Witcher universe is that it really feel like you are in a real world. Even in the books, Ciri travels to our real world, once in the Dark Ages in Germany, another time she is the reason for the Black Plague and she even is part of the Arthurian world. So this don’t sound too foreign for a person that…
Enough with these story articles before the game is out... I don’t care if there’s a spoiler warning.
I love Kotaku, but can we please not have articles like this a week before the game is actually released? This seems really odd.
If the game had been out for, oh, say a week or so I could see someone needing to get this off their chest. Problem here is the game isn’t coming out FOR another week.
I’m not sure why you make these articles when almost nobody has the game yet :S But ah well. I’m not bothered by spoilers.
Wait, are you saying that Andrzej Sapkowski’s stuff comes across like 13-year old fan fiction? Because the unicorn scene apparently was in one of his books, and the series is pretty popular in the guy’s home country and is becoming more popular over here.
