Gave me a genuine laugh for the evening. Thanks. Scary to think of someone actually listening to the ‘Switch to 4LO’ instruction at speed though....yikes.

This is how I’m describing transmissions to non-gearheads from now on.
Night shift kills you. Add kids? That was an accident waiting to happen. Good on her boss for taking positive action at least. I’m glad that she was okay and it seems like it may have (ironically) been a good thing in her life as it seems to have inspired positive change. Don’t see that kind of luck too often...
Time to call up CarMax again...
Such a waste. Thousands of pounds of payload/towing capacity and at least half of the ones I see are spotless - never seen cargo in their lives. Yet, somehow it makes sense to move around a 6000lbs pickup instead of a 3000lbs car everywhere you go....
Get a SPOT. They’re about ~$100-150, but having help available anytime, anywhere is invaluable. Strap it somewhere accessible, and it can notify friends/family if you need help. If it’s really bad, you can request SAR/EMS right away instead. If this guy had a SPOT strapped to him chances are he could have been rescued…
Video’s been removed :(
I think this one of my favourite comments on jalop. Ever. Thanks for making my morning. Miss the 90s...
You often don’t run that many miles for ‘free’. Sounds like they were paid, which means he was hauling, which is what a pickup is meant for anyway. Putting a camper in the back would make it useless for his job. From my (albeit limited) observations he was (is) basically a semi truck driver, but driving a pickup…
“Ok guys. We’re here. Shirts off. Beers up. It’s go time.”
Ah, yes. Like the 2008 Durango? *shudders* It also liked to notch up from Reverse to Park while freakin’ moving too. That was always fun.
Where is this? Cute edit by the way. *sensible chuckle*
All the complaints I heard from industry over the last decades of “we were going to do that anyway” or “you don’t need to regulate this stuff” with regards to safety and emissions regulations. I was shocked to see this - kept thinking it had to be data from 2000 or earlier. This is just sad on so many levels. I would…
A few years ago they ramped up logging to target the pine-beetle timber. Harvesting increased to beyond sustainable levels (not the usual cut, replace, etc) but it was done to prevent exactly this kind of calamity. I don’t know how much of the timber was ultimately removed, but I’m sure it’s helped. The region…
Relevant. Hilarious, but also relevant. I love me some C&H
Well they each skipped on their bonuses - have to give them credit for toughing it out.
License to print money for whoever makes this...here’s to hopin’
Seeing as they’re leaving the gas station, they likely just bought gas. Or a drink. Or something. Likely with a card of some sort. Instant ID with a quick call to the payment processing company.
Good idea. Sent my note to the company as well. Thanks for the link. I hope that guy gets a firm hand shake from the boss, not a pink slip for his actions.
Thanks for the answer. And the video. I’m just astonished honestly... It’s common to see them taking off after someone (anywhere) but it needs to be done properly. Safely. Legally. Just wow...
