I think he said in an interview he was saving fuel and the Ford just slipped past. Once Muller was out there he couldn’t catch him, but he almost got the Porsche by the end. If he didn’t have to dial it down I’m guessing Ferrari wins.

This thread is underrated. Well done.

Oh damn hadn’t heard that. The fuel limitations in F1 are so asinine - if you’re not going to allow them to refuel, at least give them a large enough tank they can race at 10/10ths the whole time. The teams will naturally want to make the PUs more efficient so they can use smaller tanks for less weight; there’s no

Didn’t they get an extra 5 kg of fuel to compensate for the extra drag? Not sure if that’s enough though.

I know I’m late to this article, but that Ghana story was really well done. I’m sad to hear it wasn’t all that popular, because it ranks right up there with your take down of Super Replicas for me.

And at the end of the day, that’s all this really is: a PR move. It won’t affect their bottom line in any significant way.

Definitely Uber. VW’s cheating scandal is just a regular Tuesday at Uber.

Yes! Still one of my favorite episodes

I had the same experience with my gf. She had never considered a Mazda until I talked her into test driving one. She now loves her CX-5.

Tom, have you heard anything about Tesla’s efforts in CT? It seems like it would be a pretty big market for them, but I haven’t heard anything about it since that bill to allow them in was killed earlier in the year.

Replying to promote this, it really was a concise, clear comment. This is some great background information.

This is fascinating, awesome reporting David.

“Chrystler sucks (and Fiat sucks even worse) at competing on quantitative measures (initial build quality, fuel economy, resale, NVH, etc.) BOTH companies excel, however, at making products that have innate desirability.”

Goddamit.

I think the battery is mostly there to help even the load on the onboard generator and be available for those high demand situations. I can’t see anyone buying a truck that only runs for ~1 hour or less, that’s why it would use hydrogen to recharge the batteries on the fly.

The CT6 and CTS ride on different platforms (CTS = Alpha, CT6=Omega). I’d guess something developed off of the CT6 platform.

Ah, I was thinking they could get away with something simpler. I never underestimate an OEM’s willingness to get out complexity and cost. Thanks for the correction.

My best guess (I’m not a suspension engineer by any means, but I’ve had some exposure) is that the OE shocks are a much simpler design, thus more robust. Instead of a valve stack like you have in this shock, an OE shock would likely have a far simpler setup (think holes drilled into it to restrict flow). Those holes

That sounds pretty good actually. Too bad the deal is sold out. Gonna have to keep an eye on it.

No joke I just got a puppy and I’ve been thinking about buying one of those backseat covers. The blankets/towels I’ve been using just don’t do the trick, as inevitably they fall off the seat when pup gets too excited.
