Toyota has a system that uses port injection at startup/light load, and direct injection at higher loads. They claim this is cleaner than just using a direct injection system. It's on the Toyobaru engine, among others.

That cold is the worst thing for your car battery. It isn't exactly helpful, but extreme heat will kill it far more quickly.

I think it depends on the manufacturer. I had them on my Audi and they worked brilliantly, and I've heard Volvo and BMW systems seem to work well too. I miss them all the time now since my new car doesn't have them.

I know this was posted the other day, but it just fits too perfectly not to use again.

I really hope you're right on the fuel economy front, because for the first 3k miles my 2L fusion has been terrible.

DC has many more "transplants" than any other northern city who aren't used to driving in snow. Because of all the political offices there from around the country/world, there are numerous people who never learned how to drive in snow. Hence clusterfuck/panic. My friend that grew up in Minnesota lives down there now,

#2 always reminds me of this video. For the ear parts of your head.

Great, thanks Tavarish. Now I'm looking at 9-2Xs all afternoon.

The death of Australian Fords/Holdens. No more crazy utes and 4-door muscle cars :(

You're making my head hurt.

A few years ago my Dad bought my mother a new car for Christmas, with the big red bow and everything. It worked because they had been shopping for new cars a month or two earlier so he knew exactly what she wanted. He had convinced her that they couldn't afford it at the moment, so she was incredibly shocked to get

That's as 2014? My mom's Sequoia had those same switches...in 2001.

Hey.

Per point #7, I think they're doing a fantastic job so far, and they haven't even released the car for sale yet. As long as they get this kind of info out to the general public (not just auto blogs) they should have no problem selling to all the parents who won't have anything but the best/safest for their kids.

But Land Rover desperately doesn't want the second type of customer. They want them gone, disappeared, destroyed, obliterated, removed from this earth. They don't ever want to sell a car to a broker, or an exporter, or two random college students hired by an exporter to pose as a happy couple from the suburbs, when

Not sure which plastic this would be, but a rough guess:

Am I the only one who actually rolled their eyes at another "lounge" concept interior? Ugh. It's been done, many times before. No one would ever want this until cars are actually autonomous which isn't exactly around the corner. Stop wasting your time and design it when it's actually needed.

Sounds like he's looking for something like this with some off-road parts on it. BOF SUV, more refined than a wrangler, smaller than a suburban/tahoe.
