On a topic other than gas - there’s an problem in the headlights findings blogged here. It’s worded in a misleading way:
Also, a car you can plug in at home is a huge convenience. Every morning, you leave your house with a “full tank” after the arduous 30-second task of of disconnecting the cord and returning it to its holder.
hybrid is probably the smartest buy atmo.. supercheap now.. still cheap if gas prices go back up.. and still having all the range.
It depends upon your client. In my experience—again, I could just have had terrible clients—if you give people an inch, they often try to take a mile.
As far as I am concerned, the initial standard should simply be equal to or better than humans.
How would you know he was looking at Hermione, maybe he went the other way? You just don’t know.
The Tesla model S has 1 fatality in 130 million autopilot miles. Human beings in the US average 1 fatality per 90 millions miles. That makes the autopilot, with all its faults, a more reliable and more trustworthy driver than humans. People will die while being driven by autonomous cars. There is no way to eliminate…
Counterpoint: It is actually easy to see the crash occured because the driver was inattentive and the TESLA’s autopilot failed to perform.
It’s actually really easy to determine what caused the crash: The tractor trailer driver failing to see his way clear across the intersection.
I should have noticed my situation during the interview. Turnover is a red marker, I should have dug more into why ‘my’ position had so much turnover. Quick phrasing came off as though they found a better situation for their level of talent (demeaning to myself off the bat). Better digging would reveal the ‘opposite’,…
I did that. It plugged into my home network. It’s clever technology. But they charged me money for it. And it still doesn’t solve my Middle of Iowa Problem. Thing was, I liked Sprint. But the coverage just drove me nuts.
For real... you’d think the world was going to end with all the whining and fatalist viewpoints regarding Brexit. Everthing is going to be fine people.
Imploded their economy? Where the fuck do you come up with this bullshit?
Well, its $50 a month for talk + text and they throw in 2gb for “free”. Though its somewhat funny, if you don’t want data, ATT + Verizon are probably cheaper than tmobile (because of that “free” 2gb). But ya it comes down to how well each service serves you. I will point out that though a $5 seems small, over two…
If this was in Canada there would be the customary set of “Sorry’s” and then a Tim Hortons coffee for 5 minute discussion about the crash followed by a 2 hour discussion about hockey.
Maybe the windshield couldn’t hold up to the weight of the suction mount. It IS a ‘99 Yaris after all.
You’re totally right in that regard. Until full-autonomy is reached, the “autopilot” feature should be looked at as a nice supplement for clear roadways, with little traffic, on long trips. There are too many other people on the road, and those people represent variables the autopilot cannot reconcile.
I bet he will never make that mistake again.
The details about the crash lead me to believe full-autonomy is where we need to be, in order for fatal crashes to be mitigated.
