Dunno about individual parts, but my entire car
No they don't. If I can perfectly fine keep up with the Autobahn at 100mph in a 91hp Diesel Mercedes, you can too.
Seems a lot of folks complain about lower powered cars on the freeway being inherently unsafe. I wonder how many of them have driven a 100hp (or less) car. There is far more danger from the drivers merging with their brakes on than that guy in the Beetle pushing WOT to get up to speed.
Italy is full of near/sub-100 hp cars with 1.x liter engines that merge onto their insane highways every day. It's no different than all those suburban commandos trying to merge onto the highway in their 0-60 in 19 seconds Hummers.
I will never own anything other than a Range Rover and a Volvo. The "and" is very important...
I can understand being skeptical of environmentalists' claims, but what I don't understand is the sort of anti-environmental backlash that I see on Jalopnik. Is it a greenie problem that car companies would rather sell more cars than less? Is it a bad thing that greenies are choosing cars that are more fuel efficient…
Yes, of course. Definitely the government and environmentalists fault. Couldn't possibly be that the corporation decided that that level of engineering wasn't cost-effective. No way.
I just drove a wrecked 04 s60 t5 600km home on the weekend for this very purpose, RN engine M56 and some sweet 17 rims
If you want a properly designed and fitted aftermarket system, you won't get much for $3k - about what the manufacturers give you. Of course you can buy a load of components worth $3k, put them together yourself, and hope for the best, but the result will be much less than the sum of the parts.
In order: Because they are ugly. No and no. By the way, the VW system doesn't do nav by default if you don't want it and doesn't do touchscreen climate controls, because those are dumb.
Its a a word in "American", which is English having a temper tantrum.
'Winningest' isn't a word.
Alright, everyone is going to say the Buick/Rover V8, so I'm gonna do it full and properly and I'm gonna be an evil bastard and include its V6 variation, which was just the V8 with two cylinders lopped off.
FWIW, in my experience "A/C needs a charge" is a colloquialism that means it needs minor servicing. Rarely recently have I delt with inventory that needs major A/C work and when I have, its almost always been SAABs or Volkswagens with that garbage electronic pressure valve.
I'm going to hazard a guess without reading more or looking at other pictures that these screens all look like Missingno.
Actually, getting the gremlins out usually requires simply checking for a loose ground or bullet connector. Of course, this isn't nearly as fun as the mythology surrounding Lucas.
Dude, listen to yourself. It's not that black people are inherently worse at driving than any other race, because race has no correlation to driving skills (or much of anything, really). It's because police officers pull over black drivers more often than any other race of driver— that's what creates statistics like…
We have a system like that on a smaller highway bridge near where I live. It's been working flawlessly for over 20 years. More lanes going south in the morning, more lanes going north in the evening, pretty convenient.
you have to completely disregard the MkVI Jetta and North American Passat when referencing VW interiors. They are Corolla/Camry imitators in every way, and certainly have almost nothing in common with any VW made since 1990 or so. Loyal VW fans hate them.
