Bought a fuckin HOUSE, y’all! Didn’t think it would ever happen, and since I’m a filthy millennial I kind of figured it just wasn’t a thing for my generation, but here we freakin are! My brother and I got the keys, moved in, got our dogs and cats here, and it is sweet. Massive front yard, across from a park, big

I reread the same things every year:

I talked my 17 yr old son into dying his hair blue black. he looks fantastic.

I managed to co-create two companies this week — so it’s good to have all of the agreements codified; and we’re finishing up some paperwork to buy our apartment, so that’s progressing.

Got all the shopping and cards and such done, and am way ahead on my Christmas reading!

i love the achievement thread!

For the most part yes! There were only a few disliked and one abandoned for another.

I finished the pop sugar reading challenge this year for the first time! After three failed attempts I finally crushed it. 50 books in exactly one year. 49 of them were never read before. Its the one good thing I’ve had happen this year and I’m pretty damn proud.

They were all for really shitty jobs but it’s nice to have choices!

Also academic life sounds terrifying

I mailed a ton of Christmas cards, turned down multiple job offers and finally sent my in-laws a massive pile of family photographs in time for the holidays!

I bought pregnancy tests (we weren’t trying, but I wanted to make sure) and a bottle of wine. I didn’t want the cashier to judge me, so I also bought a wine gift bag.

I love y’all, but with SNS posting earlier and earlier every week, I think I’m just going to have to sort of semi-permanently bow out. 2:30PM is just not doable for those of us who actually work on weekends.

Now playing

I’m a week late this year, for which I apologize.

Positive thoughts for 2019

I have written previously about my co-worker on SNS and things have not improved and I am losing my mind. She is a sloppy and mean drunk with very little alcohol tolerance.

In the space of a year:

Good for you. I applaud your self-care regimen.

I haven’t done it yet but will be using birthday cash to officially upgrade all my underwear and bras. Also socks. I put it off because I HAAAAATE bra shopping with a passion, but my all my current things are so ratty.

I went out and did a social, public gathering thing (really hard and rare for me these day) by going to a trivia fundraiser with friends. Not only did I have fun, instead of anxiety, my team actually won a round! I am really glad I went.
