Sweet! Getting your holiday decorations up is a major feat!

You did a lot better than me, and I didn’t get a walk in! Good on you for sticking to your guns and not indulging, AND getting a workout in.

Congratulations on your decision. Having your stuff away from your mother’s will be so very freeing. This way, you will be able to deal with her on YOUR terms. Having your friend contact you was so shitty, but it seems like the universe is, like you said, forcing your hand (if you get into that spiritual schtuff) and

Now that looks absolutely scrumptious. I’m impressed, and really looking forward to trying it. Thank you again for sharing the recipe!

Not base consumerism at all when you are supporting authors by purchasing their books and also expanding your mind. I am in the same boat as you with more books than bookshelves, so +1 for saving trees and the walking space in your home.

Thank you so much for sharing that - it sounds DIVOON. I am on a ketogenic diet, and that is perfectly keto-adaptable. I’m excited to try it and may tackle it once I get back in my house for Christmas!

Thank you! It wasn’t dirt-cheep like the laminate wood flooring we replaced (with dirt-cheep laminate wood flooring!), but it wasn’t an arm & a leg, either. Thankfully we have the insurance money and were able to balance costs to make it work with the insurance compensation. As Mr.TARDIS and I are in our mid-40s, we

That is a good plan. I have been doing kettlebell for 4 years and kung fu off & on since 1989, but for the past 10 years in earnest. If you tried to guess my weight based upon my appearance or my dress/pants size, you’d be stumped. Stay off the scale and reap the health benefits and body sculpting (although I know

I’m impressed - I have baked for at least 40 years, and have never attempted a bourbon pecan pie. Sounds like it was quite the hit! Feel free to share your recipe if you’re up to giving out your trade secret. :)

I’m impressed that you did a 5K in 48 minutes coughing and having those health setbacks - what a feat! I always tell people that if you see me running, you’d better haul ASS because something terrible is definitely chasing me (I do kettlebell and advanced kung fu). Sounds like you now have a personal best to kick more

Most def progress! I also think that your eyes look clearer in addition to the weight loss in your face. I lost 30 pounds this year (gained a bit back with the hurricane displacement & dissertation completion), so I know difficult it is to keep that momentum. :)

FANTASTIC!! I’ve been working in post-secondary education for 16 years, and although I have been searching for FT/tenure-track gigs I’ve wound up adjuncting for more than half of those years. Keeping my legs crossed for you that the ink dries for you and you’re reaping those academic benefits very soon.

Law enforcement is not a good call at this age IMHO (and based upon my extensive personal experience with Jr.TARDIS #1, who at the age of 24 is still giving us a run for our money - literally). I would suggest locating free local counseling for her if you suspect this type of behavior will continue and grow. Bottom

YAY!!! Go, Mr. Cap’n Janeway! Best of luck on your upcoming find - crossing my fingers and legs that you locate a place that is comfy and makes you both happy. And next year is another year to ignore your mother’s bait. I’ve been there for MANY, many years. Hopefully she gets her head out of her ass like my mother has

How old is your daughter? What was the reason for only purchasing food, especially if she lives with you (does she?).

Weekly Achievement Thread! What good did you do this week, or what accomplishment did you achieve? Please share so we can send you well wishes and celebrate with you! Did you not stab your Roy Moore-defending relatives at Thanksgiving? Did you not overstuff yourself on pumpkin pie and whipped cream? Tell us about it!!!

Workshopping is a great way to pick other folks’ minds about your research path, and also to get some amazing “Hunh, I never thought of that!” questions woven into your research. The lit review was pretty sukky and I was really sick during most of mine, but it’s just a piece of the puzzle. You got this!

Thank you, thank you! I think the best part of this past week (the editing week) has been waking up and not having that huge freaking GIGANTIC pressure of having to write every day. I’m waiting for my final chapter feedback from my chair, but holy shit is this freeing. Thank you for your kind words and congrats on

Awwww, thank you. I was having a Jim Morrison-sexy level of love for my data, so it’s been a pleasure (OK, not literally) wrapping this up outside of just “Holy shit, I’m done.”

Happy weekend, lovelies. How about an accomplishment thread? What have you done this week/weekend that we should give you a nice pat on the back for?
