The weirdest thing about this story is the “concerned parent” is named Marie “Murf” Antionette. That means this woman’s parents thought it was a good idea to give their kid the name of a queen that was overthrown and beheaded in a bloody revolution. Even weirder, apparently, Marie was not satisfied with that name and

What do you want to bet that Penny knew just enough to correct “Murf” misgendering Jae? That the quote was actually “boy,” “he,” and “his”?

An adult woman attempted to shame and bully a transgender child using her public platform. Shoot me, seriously.

High school in general “allowing a transgender teen to be crowned queen sends a message to young girls that ‘they’re not good enough.’”

Wow, you’re right! I had NO idea. Thanks for letting me know. Guess I’ll have to stop having my in-flight bathroom picnics.

I feel like Flygirl is what would happen if Thought Catalog and Lifehacker had a baby.

So why not add more gross bodily fluids???

3) A lot of men are lying.

Liars. Men lie constantly about the sexual escapades.

Basically the same thing.

Or they count jerking it in the bathroom.

“What’s more, these Mile High Club members are mostly men.”

Well, I mean I was on holiday, so they knew I was on a tourist visa. I imagine they just picked me at random. But yeah asking a family to consider leaving their 9 year old on the other side of a foreign country was pretty special.

1) I grew up around there, I know how to get there.

Yeah, and the kind of universal and vociferous support she appears to have had from her fellow customers is rare - it makes me think the whole situation must have been ridiculous, no gray area, flight attendant’s fault in order to provoke that kind of response.

Delta once tried to bump me from a flight that was overbooked. I was traveling with my family but they wanted me to stay in New York and catch a later flight to Florida. Oh and I was 9 years old. And I’m not a US citizen. So that seemed like a good decision.

Well, you know, if it’s true, fuck American Airlines (oops not United). Never flying them then. I don’t want some asshole booting me for no actual reason so that someone else can take my seat.

This is by who’s account? In every single experience I have had flying they would allow someone who needed assistance to board first. If that person shows up in the middle of the boarding process, they ask them to wait. I find it hard to believe, it sounds made up to get the most sympathy, if you ask me.

Weirdly I can totally believe they would boot her to make room for another passenger. I had an American Airlines flight cancelled one time, at the last minute and with no explanation. They did nothing to try and accommodate the passengers left stranded. And worse, they had overbooked the same Chicago->NYC flights for

“For as often as flights are overbooked, it’s hard to believe that an airline and flight crew would be so diabolical as to boot someone from the cheap seats in order to allow another passenger—perhaps a high-status frequent flier or someone who paid more for their ticket?—to be seated.”
