Honestly, that could've easily happened to someone who was already behind that truck and merged into the exit lane at the wrong time. At 0:14, what do you think her sight-line was? Yes, she was too close to the back of the truck in front of her, but right then, that lane was not visible. I don't think her cutting

Amen. When changing multiple lanes, do it in steps. First, establish ownership of the lane you moved into. Then make the move into the next lane over. Diving across multiple lanes is a great way to get killed (as this lady found out).

I've been impressed with how stable the Abarth is on the freeway. I've pushed speeds close to 90 mph at moments and the handling is rock solid. I have the hard top and the rear hatch space is good. The only issue is the sloping back does cuts down on volume.

I own a '13 Abarth and absolutely love it. It's a fantastic little runabout for commuting and getting kids to their activities. The back seat is brutally small, but it will fit two adults back there in a pinch. Front seat space is very good, with plenty of headroom.

College athletics is rotten to its fucking core

People are just pissed because Michigan blows this year, along with the entire Big Ten in general

Here's your answer right here.

Your point about four wheel drive is spot on. I live in Vermont, have three kids and a dog, and never even considered an SUV. People obsess over 4WD when they really need good snow tires and some damn common sense (oh, and maybe a friend with a large pickup truck to help out when things get REALLY ugly).

I just need to know: On what planet is a BROKEN PELVIS considered "more or less all right.?" Ouch!

And no matter what the circumstance of the road, you're strapped into a modern vehicle. You are as distanced from the driving experience as possible, trapped in a grey or black cocoon, no feel from the steering wheel or from any of the pedals. Not that you use the pedals, because you're riding with cruise control.

Ah, the ol' right hook. And this advice goes triple if you live in a college town (which I do). Bikes and skateboards are coming from every direction—off the sidewalks, in the middle of the street, out of parking lots.

This country? Did you see how Paraguay responded when Luis Suarez got drummed out of the World Cup for biting an opponent (his third such attack in the span of 2-3 years)? They concocted bizarre conspiracies and accused the English media of trying to destroy Suarez. Sorry to say: This abominable behavior is universal.

Loose seal!

Nice sentiment - too bad its inaccurate. From a global perspective, until the 1920s, by far and away the number 1 killer of women was childbirth.

Yep, that is correct. 20K was based on the expected number of people in the buildings when full. But it was early enough in the morning that many workers had not yet arrived. And of course there was time for many people to evacuate.

I'm guessing all the 2013 Abarths are finally gone. Fiat was giving those things away at the end ($7K to $8K discounts of MSRP). My understanding is the 2014 model year was very short, as Fiat worked to drain the glut of '13 Abarths, and that '15 models are now arriving. Frankly, I'd like to see Fiat drop the MSRP so

As a Fiat 500 Abarth owner, I've read and heard all of it. And frankly, I don't even care. Other people's sadly articulated insecurities do not interest me. Besides, I can't hear them over the sound of this exhaust.

Not so when you're in a U-Haul. It doesn't matter how fast you're going. You could be doing 85 miles per hour, passing someone going 50 miles per hour with their hazard lights on and farm plates and a chicken coop in the back. The second you get up to their driver's window, they realize: "OH MY GOD I'M GETTING PASSED

Failed? It was never deployed. The parachute is there largely to protect operators in the case of an engine failure. Single-engine planes are uniquely at risk because if one engine fails, all engines fail. So a parachute system at least gives you options if an airfield or other landing strip isn't within glide range.

Former '09 Fit Sport M/T owner here. I love the description of the Fit as a car you buy and then you immediately start saving up for your next, better car. When we bought the Fit, that was exactly my plan: Drive it for 4-5 years, hand it down to our teenage boys, and then get myself something fun. I drive an Abarth
