Let's be fair to TNG, though. If DS9 worked better overall, it was, at least in part, because the people running it had learned from mistakes they had either made or observed on TNG. I don't think DS9 would have been as good if it had started at the same time, and might not have been as good if it had started only…

Yeah, his sister could have come off very badly if she was just a joke machine, but I like that she and Marty tend to be the most well grounded characters, relative to their ages and situations.
I'm sure others can squeeze in some hate, but I'm not feeling it tonight. I think the review was spot on for this episode, and it's hard to impotently rage about someone doing a good job on a series I love.

Does anyone else who's watched the Inspector Lewis episodes get the feeling his partner would be a more interesting main protagonist? That was my inescapable conclusion. I was less interested when it was just Lewis, or when it was Lewis and Hathaway, then when it was just Hathaway.
