Guest asked below whether there couldn't be "a" book normalizing forms of BDSM other than male/female D/S. There are quite a few such books already. Anyone who's interested in such stuff probably already knows about them, so I won't name them here.

"Interesting pornographic novels"? Back in the old days, most porn was still pictures and prose. They weren't masterpieces. Anyone else ever read "Song of the Loon"? Which was at least fun.

I don't think it was clinical or particularly off-putting. For sex writing it wasn't half bad. I didn't find it sexy, but then I'm a queer, and heterosex isn't very sexy to me. It looks like a lot of women don't find the book off-putting.

Yes, those "ultra-PC people", aka "Negroes." You oughta look at the history of controversy over Huck Finn, instead of just jerking your knee. There's also a difference between "banning" (as from libraries) and disputing a book's use as required reading in the curriculum.

Oh, they are. Constantly.

Isn't Don Quixote supposed to be a satire of the literature of courtly love?

No, that won't work. Most porn involves women enjoying their sexuality with dudes who aren't you.
Not to worry. Many horrible, horrible movies will be greenlit in any case, as usual. That's show biz. Would you be bothered if more horrible, horrible action or horror movies got greenlit? Because they have been. But you don't have to go see them. Is it just their existence that upsets you?
Sort of like "mom jeans."
But doesn't he say "Surely I am coming soon" right there in the BIble? And doesn't the Bible reply, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Amen"? You don't mean he wasn't telling the truth? Say it ain't so!
I attend all Internet conventions. Oh, wait, I told it wrong.

I guess that's one reason why I'm in the camp of not-impressed by the movie. I am not attracted by manic pixie dream girls (or boys, in my case), so Winslet's character is the kind of person I'd never get involved with, and a movie based on the assumption of her desirability just doesn't draw me in.
Yeah, bodies are so gross. If only we could do without them.
