It was a good episode, what they did wasn't really new or original but it was done well. If this is the standard for the rest of the season then I'll be more than satisfied.
I really enjoyed this episode, we know the show is tired (8 seasons will do that to you) and that nothing done here is really all that new but it is done well and I think that's what's important.
Personally I'd say he's far better than Salinger, not just a better writer but a better storyteller. That counts for a lot.
