I guess I don't see the correlation between the XB1 app execution and the way Windows 8 does it.

I actually built a dedicated gaming rig last year and decided to use windows 8 since it's on a hometheater rack instead of an office desk. Win8 has a lot of problems but I don't think I've ever had any real problems

I didn't realize there was a sort of "right click" style context menu on the options here, that really explained A LOT...

wouldn't it have made sense for MS to simply include a button key at the bottom of the screen like they did with the Xbox 360, that would have made things easy to figure out with the need for a

Who's white knighting the XB1? I'm just making an observation about PS4 owners here in the comments.

same here... that thing was removed before I even plugged the console in. An I too pack all the stuff back in the original box.

Where the hell did you find a Killer Instinct Arcade Stick, I didn't think those were coming out until January?

In addition to buying a next gen console and half a dozen games for it I also Spent $700 in parts to fix up the a DDR Arcade machine I bought in October...

My wallet always hates this time of year...

This generation you can do that because the manufacturers have their ish together and were able to produce enough to meet demand.

Last generation and generations past if you weren't at the front of the line you weren't getting a console easily until January or February.

If the PS4 is so great then why do all these PS4 owners have so much free time that they troll gaming sites bashing the XB1? Shouldn't they be off the computer enjoying their new console?

The Wolverine one was fantastic because there was a back and forth between the two of them... and Wolverine basically hung himself with his own stupidity.

After that it just devolved into professor X throwing insults/making references for a few minutes without any meaningful interaction from the person he's firing.

The Dreamcast is still my favorite console of all times, so many fantastic games. Though truth be told many of my favorites have received HD re-releases on the Xbox 360:

I completely disagree with your complaints about the XB1 controller.

Right, exactly what would anyone have to say about a game that doesn't exist and isn't even in development?

You mis-read; they didn't lose gear, there just isn't a new one in development right now.

"Xbox Use a Code" was my best friend during the setup process where I had half a dozen codes to enter from all the games I had bought.

"Xbox Go Home" is easily the most useless command if you've got a controller in your hand because it's still 5 times faster to just push the logo button.

On the topic of entering codes.

one of the first things I noticed about the new kinect is that it actually has a cooling fan. I found that odd but if it's really getting that hot then I guess it makes sense.

I don't know if it's true but I remember reading somewhere that some of the voice command processing as well as motion processing is actually

The difference is on a modern engine whether it uses a cam or a pneumatics, when the timing belt/chain lets go the valves are in various positions, they tend to stay where they are or move with whatever momentum they had. So while the valve might collide with the piston head, the pressure within the combustion

High resolution doesn't mean the graphics are good. Similarly you can have a game with a lower resolution that still has good graphics.

While Resolution is related to the overall graphical fidelity, it's not the only factor, and it's certainly far less important than most people make it out to be.

I guess I'm missing the point as to what benefit there would be to using a classic console inside of SNAP mode?

I have a high-end Denon AV Receiver that converts everything to HDMI... it uses a Faroudja DCDi processor for 480i/p signals which is hands-down the best upscalers for older content I've ever seen. If you're
