Where in Canada? and do they have any other Japanese machines?
Where in Canada? and do they have any other Japanese machines?
hmm I've got a still sealed copy with the controller, I wonder what eBay prices are like.
I'm planning on adding DDR, Area 51, TMNT, and a Japanese candy cab.
I don't feel your car analogy works... both Hondas and Ferraris are original dedicated equipment, it's like comparing two different games. to use that analogy I see MAME more like comparing a driving simulator to driving an actual car.... it'd be a really good simulator (like one built inside an actual car chassis)…
I read about this idea over on KLOV before they started putting it into action. I get the impression that it caters to small businesses who want a machine or two in their lobby or break room, as well as the home user who isn't technically inclined enough to buy and restore a machine or keep a machine up and running…
I used to love Cyber Sled, they had one at the mall when I was in High school... Then Virtual On came out and it was everything Cyber Sled wishes it was. I've now got Virtual On and Killer Instinct 2 in my game room
I've got a few machines in my game room, what I and a lot of other arcade collectors do is essentially force yourself to only ever play on one credit... the challenge of trying to get as far along as you can on a single credit tends to keep the game interesting and challenging and I find my skills in the game improve…
As someone who owns several arcade machines, and a former MAME cabinet owner; let me say that MAME cabinets suck. It's the ultimate in quantity over quality. Honestly most games aren't emulated by MAME well unless they're quite old, and if they're old the modern style controls used in most MAME cabs usually don't mesh…
What does that have to do with IR Blaster functionality?
I was stating "better" mostly as supporting newer audio formats (like 7.1)... you're absolutely right about the quality being arguably better over optical. Very good point about receiver support too!
I think you need to look at your PS2 Slim again. One of the selling points of the Slim was that it had the IR receiver BUILT IN. the FAT PS2 required an adapter. Go look it's the little glassy window on the bottom all the way to the right.
The PS3's implimentation of CEC was pretty poor. I have a Denon AVR-989 and…
now THAT is a proper photoshop job...
most of the "touch ups" in the article are just other people's faces cut and paste on top of the original.
Yes an IR blaster allows the console to control your other devices, it can do everything a remote control can do. S/PDIF is a digital audio protocol... it was the bees knees around the PS2 era and arguably the best digital audio signal you could use up until HDMI came out... now HDMI is better and considered the…
The PS2 had an IR receiver, I don't know what you mean by "moved away from".
I wouldn't expect it to have a IR output since it lacks an HDMI input, the PS4 isn't designed for that kind of thing.... I DO hope that they have an IR receiver so that other devices that do support IR output, or perhaps devices like Harmony…
The port is the same thing as the IR transmitter on your phone the only difference is the signal is transferred via wire instead of wirelessly. Generally if you have a home theater device designed to control other devices, if both have IR ports you can just hook a wire up between them. otherwise you can get a small…

Honestly the IR port on my Galaxy S4 is one of my favorite features of the phone. Giving the Xbox One the ability to actually control all of your other devices is a necessity if they actually want it to be your entertainment hub.
I know that, but SAYING they want it to be something and then actually adding in the proper hardware functionality to make it properly DO that are two completely different things.
Honestly, Blue-Tooth sucks. It's one benefit is that it's become the defacto wireless standard but other than that, it's less reliable than other wireless connections, it's got worse range, slower speeds, allows for fewer connections and it's less efficient than the 2.4GHz model that MS uses.
The one beneift MS would…
"IR blaster port"
YES! Thank you! honestly for anyone with a serious home theater setup full IR intergration across devices is an absolute necessity. Probably the most disappointing thing about the PS3 was it's complete lack of IR functionality. Hopefully Sony rectifies that with the PS4.
IMO this one feature says, more…
