@Leanid: The redcoats never heldbeheading contests, or injected people with seawater untill they died, or dambed rivers with corpses for the lulz- even the Belgian Congo wasn't that bad...

@SacredByte: but even that campaign was of limited geographical scope (restricted to the Southeast) compare it to the Blitz in Britain- hit Glagow, London, Coventry, Plymouth, Birmingham. The fireraid on Japan were even more severe- Sherman's campaign, whilst brutal, doesn't compare
I can't help but think that the reason post-apocalyptic TV sells here and in Japan, but not in North America is this; both of these countries were blitzed to Hell and rebuilt, North America doesn't have that kind of history of carnage and rebirth...
@Death_By_SnuSnu: But our (clearly superior) television only runs for half a dozen episodes per series, rather than twenty...
@blaaps: But why would they leave- you don't have any healthcare for when Charlie Sheen goes on his inevitable murder/suicide rampage...
Stupid Britain with our stupid old-unemployed-german-lady stamps...
@muscletower: Yeah, but Britain is Mac to your PC, we used to have a bigger market share way back when, but now we just look down on you with quasi-european disdain cuz we're all elitist
@Inzoum: We're gonna get the same kinda crap here in the UK soon enough- though the government owned afffair were also near-useless...
@smartboydan is banned from Deadspin :(: I met a history grad-student who claimed that beer drinking (and later tea) was responsible for the population explosion here in Britain that caused the Industrial Revolution, remember kids, alcohol+tea are national treasures....
@Banzboy: perhaps they were hopeful ;-)
@Callabrantus: But he would then need a second player to reload for him...
@mithriltim: True that, a friend of mine used to say that Revelation was the trippy experimental student film of the Bible series ;-)
@QuatlooMillionaire: is there anything that Americans aren't chauvanistically superior about?
@jcupach: yeah, most Christians imagine an Apocolypse with a decent special effects budget ;-)
@FrankN.Stein: Plus, all the energy, food and land shortages would be gone (once the initial economic instability had been sorted and we all get reorganised)
@mithriltim: One wonders; if "the Rapture" (as a European I'm not 100% sure what it means, so if I'm miles out, someone correct me) happened but who the Hell wouldn't turn to Jesus if one one of the more overt Bible-things actually happened
@Russ Cutress: So how come America's full of Judaic cultists (the same cult that growing madstyle in Africa) and the fastest growing religion in the UK is an Arabian one (not just immigration, conversions are increasingly popular)
@Spatchmo: I think the difference is that we remember that thuggish prick who played for Wales(?!?) even more than we remember Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels...
@Excalibur: agreed- crazy shapeshifting panther sex...
@ringer81: Don't forget that TB's British, we get away with more crud over here...
