People like this are the best! I have a client who is worth several million and daily drives an 02 manual Honda Civic because it hasn’t broke yet. He has a weekend toy to take out on occasion because he enjoys cars. 99% of the time he sticks to the buy assets not things. Great mindset to have.

And he’s probably loaddeeedddd, because he isn’t throwing tons of money away on a big ass car payment every month.

I have a good friend who is a cardio-thoracic surgeon; makes north of $1/2 million per year. He still drives the 1996 Honda Civic DX he bought new, when he graduated from Med school. At the hospital he parks his hooptie with the Range Rovers, Porsches, Ferraris, Bentleys, etc... in his own reserved Dr spot.

You can’t go wrong with the standard Volvo 240.

This has the M47 5-speed, not the wonky-overdrive M46.

One of the rare times I will NP a car approaching 300k. Why? These are dirt simple, easy to work on, and reliable as gravity. Even the things that wear out at this mileage can be taken care of with a china mart special toolkit. I’d wanna push the price down, but it’s a fair asking given these were heirloom cars

At what point do you think old Volvo wagons will transition from desirable daily driver status to cult cars relegated exclusively to hemp-wearers, vegans, and Democrats?

To each his own.

I truly believe you are right when you say religion is a drug. I grew up the son of a preacher. And as a youngster, I felt what my dad and millions of others would call the holy spirit within me. Later on in life I tried drugs. Guess what, I felt that holy spirit again. Only this time, I didn’t need a great sermon and

You kidding? God saved her from death while praying. This probably just reaffirms her beliefs.

Came to post:

Part of me would be glad that this happened in the hopes that it might shake this one idiot loose from her faith-based nonsense thinking. Then again, the kind of credulous idiot stupid enough to think closing her eyes and praying to an invisible Kenny logins lookalike will accomplish anything of value is probably not

Waiting for the day I can just download file and 3d print this....
