Feeling isn’t just limited to driving experience, though. I mean, think of all the people who grew up with posters of Countaches and Diablos on their walls, or who lusted after the Testarossa for years after seeing it in Miami Vice or Outrun. The character and pop culture significance of exotics of that era is

Just curious, but as a Canadian, how did you arrive at that analogy? Canadian politics is a very different beast then US politics, in no large part due to the existence of more than two major parties (bipartisan dynamic doesn’t really work the same way), so the more “liberal” among us are more closely aligned with the

I think you replied to the wrong person. In Canada we have 3 major political parties, the Conservatives (right-of-centre), the Liberals (left-of-centre), and the NDP (mid-left), along with 2 smaller parties (Greens and Bloc Québecois) that usually win a few seats, so the whole bipartisan dynamic doesn’t work the same

Easy:

When you’d rather drive your mom’s Prius instead when you have the choice, because you don’t need to refill its tank (and empty your wallet) every 100km and because it doesn’t struggle painfully every time you try to take it up a moderate slope at speed:

You could also swap in the 24v inline 6 from a 960 if you wanted to stay in the family, those can make insane horsepower when properly tuned:

That interior looks to be in fantastic shape, once the car’s cleaned up nicely I can easily see this going for a few grand more with the super rare stick. I would DD the shit out of this were I not many thousands of kilometres away and didn’t already own an old Volvo. NP for days.

Hey, I posted an Amazon earlier but for some reason it’s stuck in the greys! But excellent choice, though I’d set aside some of that remaining 9500$ for some better shocks and sways to counter the significant body roll and a M47/T5/W58 manual transmission to swap in.

Was just looking at that one to post, but went with the Amazon due to being a wagon guy. That’s a gorgeous P1800, though.

You don’t get out of the greys unless someone comments on your post, I think.

They are. (Unless they just attached a real old 240 headrest to some other seat, that is) :)

This is true of hands-free phones as well. There’s some solid research to suggest that operating a hands-free phone slows people’s reaction times quite a bit when driving (around 25-30%), with some studies finding it almost twice as bad as being intoxicated at the legal limit (!).

That’s the number of things (give or take two) that most people can keep in their working memory at one time, or at least that’s the common saying.

Yeesh, that was uncomfortable just to read. At least you passed.

Volvo 240 driving poorly and not belonging in a racing game? I take it you’re not European? They’re massively popular in the Swedish and Scandinavian tuning scenes due to their high availability and massive power potential / ease of engine swap. Just check these ones out: http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/04/brick-…

They developed the game in conduction with Speedhunters (who are actually owned by EA), and they cover a lot of tuner Volvos due to their huge popularity in Europe’s tuning scene. The stock motors can make insane turbo power for a 4-cyl, and the engine bay is big enough that people have swapped in everything from 2JZs

I actually enjoyed Carbon a lot, though my all-time favourites remain Porsche Unleashed and High Stakes. I thought the car list was good and varied, the territory gameplay dynamic was fun, and the city was a great place to bomb around with cops on your tail. They even had touge racing! I played it on PC, though, so

The fact that you left the same comment twice makes this post all the better.

Yeah, my bad. Didn’t actually watch the video before posting, just saw someone else refer to it as a Buick in the comments and assumed they had it right.
