Obligatory :)
Obligatory :)
When I was at my worst I remember thinking that not only would it never get better, but I really and truly had a hard time remembering it ever BEING better. Like I literally had to have my husband remind me that I used to feel good. Because the liar that depression is just blots everything out so completely.
Exactly. Way to make someone else's pain and torment all about you and your needs, people.
I actually think the worst part about that post is the fact that he hopes it "wasn't a suicide" because it would be a potential bummer for HIM. Way to make it about you, dude.
Approves.
Jeez, what a nightmare. It sounds like it was a free for all and they are just trying to cover their asses for not providing the proper supervision. I hope this family gets some relief.
Are there requirements for punishments too or is that just up to the discretion of the school? Because otherwise it's kind of moot.
But how would you prove harassment in this case? It seems like it would be all or nothing, either consensual sex or rape. Doesn't calling it "harassment" kind of water it down, as if there is some kind of gray area? Plus, kids get harassed in school kind of on the regular, they don't usually get expelled for it. And…
I want to make sure I understand. So schools are legally required to do their own investigation in addition to the police investigation. What would be the outcome? I mean, other than kicking the perpetrator out of school, (which, of course, would be the ideal outcome) they don't really have any way to impose…
Because of their mindfuck that gets people to believe that every privilege they have is because they are super special and smart. They don't need help from any movements, yo. And you wouldn't either if you weren't so stupid/lazy/ignorant. It's the same shit they pull when they lose their minds over "entitlements."
Exactly. This isn't an infringement on anyone's religion, because no one is FORCING her to be a nurse. She chose to pursue something incongruous with her religion and now she's suing? Really?
Look, there are a lot of jobs I couldn't do, because of my abilities, my preferences, my moral code, whatever. I don't then choose to do one of those and complain that I am being treated unfairly when my inability to fulfill basic job duties means I don't get hired. My profession, like many others, has an ethical…
Funny you should mention that. The daughter of an acquaintance of mine is on a 5 week missions trip and is posting a daily blog about it. Everyone is all like "you are doing great things!" and the pats on the back never stop coming, but to be honest, reading the posts it kind of sounds like she is on vacation. I…
LOL. My daughter used to regularly ask me if she could have random items of mine when I died. I was like, hey, I'll be dead, and all you care about is getting my shit?
I hear you, sister. Blood thinners here. Tampon plus a pad and I'm still crossing my fingers I don't have an accident in between trips to the bathroom.
I don't have any horrifying stories but my 9 yo daughter has been somewhat fearful about getting her period ever since she saw my Tampax in the bathroom when she was 6 and I explained what they were for. I tried to be all body positive and chill about it, but she's pretty horrified by the idea.
That's what I was thinking. I read Weingarten's piece when it first came out, and those situations are clearly not about parents who make a conscious decision to leave their kids in the car for a few minutes. Two completely different issues, so I'm not sure why this piece even referred to that one.
Yeah, this isn't bullying. I'm so sick of that term being overused, both to make a big deal out of minor issues and to downplay major issues. This seems like sexual harassment, sexual assault, which in my book is way beyond bullying.
I agree, this isn't bullying. This is harassment and assault.
