I'm in the middle of playing Citizen Sleeper, and it's a delight.

Just to throw in smaller indies that might fly under the radar... The Fermi Paradox is still in early access: it’s an emergent story game in which you’re the Cosmic Gardener who nudges various alien civilizations in good or bad directions, with the prospect of planetary cataclysm or catastrophic First Contact ever

I've been hooked on Drox Operative 2 for these past couple of weeks. AI factions are busy playing a space 4X game against each other. You, you're the a-hole playing space Diablo messing up their plans for your masters, the ancient Drox Guild. UI and presentation aren't polished and the learning curve is a bit steep,

I love both Persona and SMT for very different reasons. The recent incarnations of the former definitely is more accessible than the recent incarnations of the latter, and someone going into mainline SMT expecting a character and plot driven “I want to know what happens next!” experience will be let down - and it’s

You should check out Ironsworn, the pdf of the base game is free.

My current obsession is Ironsworn: Starforged. If you enjoy PbtA, it scratches all the right space opera itches and it’s easy to pick up. You can play it GM-free and even solo (which turns out is way more fun than it should be), and it nails the GM-free element.

I played it when it first came out, and I fell in love with it. Despite being rough around the edges at times, it’s a labour of love and it has so much heart. It also did so many things other JRPGs wouldn’t do - starting with telling a story that is not a Save The World story.

“[...]know that most of the fun in Fallen Order Dark Souls is in exploration. Think Metroid instead, and you’ll be fine.”

I bet Toby Fox never imagined we’d hear Megalovania during a *wrestling* intro, of all things! Too bad the fight won’t live up to the one from Undertale. :P

There was a NES game called Totally Rad.

I was disappointed that GW2 departed from that formula. I loved GW1, and there has been nothing like it ever since. :/

Is Mother 3 coming to the Switch too?

The Adventure of Link is the true spiritual predecessor to Dark Souls.

I’ve yet to try The Resistance, but my copy of Coup - their follow-up in this setting - is getting good mileage. It’s a fast-paced, high-stakes bluffing game that plays well whether there are 3 players or 6. You play the actual power brokers of that universe who use their influence to oust each other and achieve

Does Pillowfort allow sexually explicit content? A lot of my work deals with sex education and sexuality, and Tumblr’s relaxed rules on sexual content allow me to do things that would be impossible on most other platforms. It’d be great to have a new platform that learned from Tumblr’s experience that allows me to

Having watched more of the original than what is healthy, I can tell you that it actually makes sense - while leaving a lot open to interpretation. But it’s deliberately set up to make you go “what the heck just happened?!”. It’s the story of a 12-year-old boy who learns to leave his older’s brother shadow and become

We all felt that insane exhilaration you describe when we found that elevator back to the Firelink Shrine. I always thought that the decision to give bonfire warp straight from the beginning in DkS2 was a mistake. Having to travel from location to location heightens the sense of danger, but it also forced the

This is a testament to how well the devs did the work when they first made the game. Heck, I used to run this on a bucket of a Pentium III, way below minimum requirements.

If I decide to shell out that kind of money (that I don’t have) on a new console, it will be on a Switch. I want to Splat! And play cool portable indies!
