“”People often said to me “who will take care of you when you’re old if you don’t have kids?””
“”People often said to me “who will take care of you when you’re old if you don’t have kids?””
Well the first one is just the practice child.
“My son is fantastic and my favorite person on the planet”
Ahh, your ObGyn is just trying to drum up business. Next time he/she hassles you, ask him/her “need a new addition on the house, eh?”
“Certainly got awkward, but hey, I wasn’t the one assuming someone was selfish in the realm of a very sensitive topic.”
Interesting timing, I just got a drunken call last night from an old friend who I hadn’t spoken of in years; she called to complain about being a parent.
Wow, that’s just crazy. The idea of one child is very appealing to me. Two or more and I break out in a cold sweat.
Terms like “the oppressor class” are bad for analyzing structural inequality. They strip nuance and complexity from a very nuanced and complex issue. They also tend to whitewash inequality; no reasonable person could believe that black men, for example, have any meaningful privilege compared to white women.
“Because “sexism” makes it sound like short men have it as bad as heavy women, older women or even just plain women. Which is so not the case.”
In a classic Pavlovian stimulus-response way that music gives most of us a rush of endorphins.
Ok. I wasn’t conveying the hivemind consensus, just pointing out that I heard a lot of (separately expressed) praise for her hair. I, personally, have no expertise to offer on that front.
Every black person I’ve discussed the issue with said she did a great job on the hair.
Good point. My main problem with Freakonomics is the sort of earnest tone combined with the implicit belief that the author invented the field of sociology. I mean, the opening of the book is basically “what would happen if we applied STATISTICS — hear me out — to society! Isn’t that just an amazingly novel idea?”
Knowing how Martin writes, the most logical explanation is he let Jon Snow live so he can get the satisfaction of killing him for real in front of you.
I’ve been wanting this kind of thing for like 20 years; I remember back in the day creating my own bases and headquarters in RPGs with persistent objects (like Ultima 6). But I do hope it’s integrated realistically into the regular RPG Fallout questworld. Like you shouldn’t be able to just magically create your scrap…
I honestly don’t know enough about Japanese law or even Japanese sexual politics to predict either way.
Probably too small a data set to extrapolate to the entire population, but out of the three black women I discussed the case with, the reaction was 100% “meh.” Also 100% “wow she did an awesome job on her hair.” The angriest people online seem to be white liberals.
“ God bless John Legend, he must really love that girl.”
“Ryan, it seems, isn’t just your average clam server; no, he is a college student as well. A college student who is “working two jobs to fund his education.””
Wait, I’m with you in spirit but the problem with too many of these places are too many guns.
