I did a search to see if there were other anti-Knox articles around that might offer a corroboratory view. I found many. All written by the same author who did the Salon article. I guess I can respect her work ethic.
A sociopath investigated for murder where there is no credible evidence that she was involved but plenty of credible evidence that a specific other person did the crime IS likely innocent.
I don't know if that's a "fair" overview; the author has apparently been on a one-woman crusade to convince people in this country that Knox is guilty of the crime. I haven't followed the story that much but even I can see a lot of holes in the Salon article, particularly in regards to the claims about Knox's DNA.
Her being a sociopath, and her being innocent, are not contradictory theories.
Ahh I see, I misunderstood.
Nope; you link to a story that explicitly says "Those allegations alone sound horrible (Oregon denies them), but they've taken a disturbing twist: the university gave to its lawyers the student's counseling records from when she sought help on campus."
"What's troubling is the the student's post-rape mental condition in a rape case is not at issue under conventional HIPAA standards"
Straight to the police for what? Whatever you feel about the school's action or the law itself, the school didn't violate the law.
I don't think it's as much a question of overriding federal law as simply functioning as a waiver of confidentiality, consistent with that law.
Not outing myself but it was within the general vicinity of New York Methodist Hospital.
I thought I couldn't be a bigger fan of Patrick Stewart until you mentioned that. I worked for years in Park Slope and every stereotype of the Park Slope parent is absolutely true.
I watched the first season and enjoyed it overall, but the more I watched the more repulsive I found the class system portrayed, particularly as the creators of the show seemed to want us to like the indolent family.
I think a big thing is where you're living. Dating in NYC as a mid-to-late 30's guy was sooooo much easier than doing the same in South Florida. The bizarre thing is I still try to date the same demographic: 30-something professionals and/or graduate students, but for some reason it's so much harder down here. I've…
Yep; 17-year-old girls (and boys) are not wise. They range from dumb to slightly less dumb. I mean, come on, when was the last time anyone went to a 17-year-old girl for advice?
I think he is a talented director who has done some excellent films, but I do think he is nevertheless overrated. He is certainly not in the league of a Kubrick or Spielberg, both who have influenced filmmaking a lot more than Allen.
Well, she wouldn't do that again afterwards at least.
It's cruel to mention the existence of that picture without showing us.
I remember seeing a couple walking their bobcat on the boardwalk next to the beach. I initially thought it was just a big cat with oddly long legs.
Contract law is not necessarily determinative when dealing with heavily regulated things like air travel. Anyway I'm not saying there necessarily was a constitutional violation here, but simply that it is not a simple question that can be resolved purely by looking at whether the entity is private or public.
