Ugh, so awful. I’m disgusted. He’s a REPUBLICAN?!!! Blech.

Of course, I remember when other did it and that started some conversation. Still Gwyneth’s demonstration that healthy food is expensive and hard to come by if you are on SNAP is fascinating to me. The fact that she wanted fresh veggies and fruits and got so little is worthy of discussion. Also, she should have gone…
Look it. Gwyneth is obnoxious. We get it. BUT the media hasn’t talked about the lack of food choices and hunger for the poor in this country is YEARS. Can we at least applaud Gwyneth for bringing attention to this topic? Tomorrow I’ll go back to making snide comments about Goop.
I'm so concerned that young Caucasians will grow up not seeing people that look like them on television. How will they know they are considered to be the most important, valued, beautiful people in this country? Weeping Weeping.
I feared it was "I have Confidence." I must confess, that I play that song on my way to work on the first day of a new semester. It's one of my favorite things. (Get it? Get it??)
I'm curious how the mental illness in Andre's story plays out. Speaking for my middle class African-American family, seeking therapy for emotional or mental strife isn't talked about around the dinner table. I appreciate the authenticity of the multi-layered portrayal of the family. If everybody agreed with every…
I really dislike when people act like asses inside or outside of the country. Also, you're not supposed to take photos of the David. It's disrespectful and no one gets a good picture. And now I don't like her.
Glad to know she's human. REALLY! What is more amazing is that the lipstick looks good on her. I have the same brand and it's flaky and turns bright orange in 10 minutes.
Clearly neither of these women has READ the books listed, but even the titles don't indicate that they suggest a hatred of the white race. The class isn't about how white people are bad. It's about how whiteness doesn't allow for a deep understanding of racism. So often when I talk about white privilege with my…
That's not her. Don't know who it is, but it's not her.
Maybe I'm a naive black woman, but I think Stanley and the editors were trying way too hard to be clever in their turn of phrase. Stanley's writing isn't clear enough so the nuance can show. In fact, at points in the article, her writing is so over wrought to make the "Angry Black Woman" phrase fit, that it is…
I think Stanley's article would make more sense (and be less problematic) if she weren't trying to give it a "clever" hook by using the trope "angry black woman." The article is written with enough nuance to make it clear that she's not being racist—if that makes any sense. A good editor would have realized this.
