Aren’t all the Simpson family except Bart named after Groening’s actual family? Isn’t his dad’s name Homer?

That raise ain’t coming.

This is the kind of response I want to see more of.

I feel like those SNL sketches came out within a few years of each other, and it leads me to believe those were the years you were in high school. You’ve never had to endure a 70's fan talking about land sharks, or an 80's fan doing the Eddie Murphy laugh or saying “You look marvellous,” or a 90's fan telling you

They’re definitely not as immediately satisfying as Get Out, and as follow ups to that movie I can see why some people were disappointed with them. I don’t think either movie would have been as popular without being associated with Get Out, not that popularity is a barometer of how good a film is.

I’m very sorry.

At the time Myers seemed to avoid the “Saturday Night Dead” stuff from the media.

The classics they mostly have are movies like My Cousin Vinny, which are solid studio comedies that have competent acting and directing. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but not dogshit either.

It’s got more “classic” movies, in that you will have heard of them and they have some pop culture relevance. Netflix has too many originals starring nobody, or titles so generic you can’t remember them right after seeing them. They’re both mediocre, but better take a chance with Tubi, because at least it will be a

I read it as being about giving up on your dreams in life, and I guess not living as your real gender is basically that. When he watches the show again at the end and doesn’t recognize it, I felt like despite what Maddy was saying, sometimes it is too late.

I just meant that Myers felt more a part of the earlier cast, whereas Sandler always did sketches with the newer cast members that came on around the same time or later than him. Although most of Myers’ bits were solo affairs anyway.

The only comic who ever truly spoke truth to power was Steven Wright.

It’s not really about the 90's in that way. The TV fetishism is definitely for CRTs, and his adulthood is represented by getting a flatscreen delivered to his house, but it’s not really about the 90's as much as it is set in the 90's. It’s just using the era as a metaphor, rather than mining nostalgia for it.

There are definitely obvious nods to Les Miz, Oklahoma, and others, but Mountain Town sounds a lot like the opening of Beauty and the Beast, and Up There is clearly Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid. It’s worth noting that the writer, Alan Menken, was a Broadway guy. Disney is also currently the biggest

I think ending after the initial story was over (season 4 or 5 I can’t remember) would probably bump it up a bit. It was basically a happy medium between Buffy and The X-Files, two other shows that outlived their original focuses.

I think more people are aware of Grizzly Man, and a lot of them still probably haven’t seen it. Since that film he’s become better known for his narration than his directing. I would guess your average joe is more familiar with him from The Mandalorian, Parks and Recreation, or some other appearance or VO he did.

I think comedians tend to have their personal opinions out there more than other people, so they’re much more at risk for saying something people don’t like.

Martin IS Sheneneh? What?!!! Mind blown.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your theory, but I think these are the worst examples of people whose indiscretions came to the surface because of racism (which I assume is what you’re implying).

Sheneneh, the neighbour rom across the hall. Can’t remember Chaunte.
