@rebeldevil: I can only speak based on my own experiences, but I have noticed improved reception, better call quality, and increased data speeds with my iPhone 4. I can make bars disappear when I try but have yet to experience a blip when using the phone normally for calls or data. Isn't it possible – if not probable

@Prashanth Kumar Goriparthi: Did you read the full post? This was asking about real-world, normal use. If you're not holding it long enough for the issue to occur during real-world, normal use, then it's not affecting real-world, normal use.

@modisch: People could easily take it out of the case at home or on Apple's campus to test this problem. Based on my initial (admittedly brief experience), I have yet to experience it when using the phone naturally, and I have gotten better reception on average. So if Apple noticed it, they probably decided it was

@A GIANT SMURF: Better they choose "I don't have an iPhone 4" than choose another option because this one didn't exist.

@Daniel Jih: How many non-iPhone 4 users are actually interested and how many are just here for the schadenfreude?

@crsrc: I agree with you. I can make it happen when I try, but it's never happened when I'm using it normally. I have actually noticed better call quality and faster data than with my 3GS. I need more time before I officially declare that this is just the media sensationalizing a non-issue, but that's where I'm

I can make bars drop when I try to, but I have yet to experience any decline while using the phone normally. And if I'm not using the headphones for a call, I'm holding the phone to my ear with my thumb on one side, index finger on the back (roughly where the Apple logo is) and one or two other fingers on the other

@Odin: I expect the Office port for OS X to be impeccable because it's Microsoft's opportunity to get its foot in my door. Every Mac can now run Windows, and when Microsoft sells a copy of Windows to a Mac user, it's like selling half a dozen PCs because retail copies of Windows sell for so much more than OEM copies.

@Odin: I think you may have misread my comment. I agreed with you right off the bat that Apple wasn't the only company that could innovate, and I never said that Microsoft COULDN'T come up with something good. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I just said that thinking so was really optimistic – my

@aec007: First, nobody before me claimed OS X was designed for touch. And second, OS X DOES use multi-touch gestures – through input devices (trackpad and Magic Mouse). Traditional desktops and laptops with touch screens aren't ergonomic enough to use for long periods, so I think this approach is better. That's not to

@Odin: While I agree that Apple isn't the only company that can innovate, I think it's really optimistic to say that Microsoft can create a product of the same class. Courier is interesting, but thinking up an interesting idea and actually executing it well are two different things. Microsoft isn't really known for

@tokugawa: "Besides, the only "tailored OS" Apple created was the OS X variant for iPhone."

@Odin: ok - I was just checking. The rumor mill is out of control and only going to get worse. I wish Apple would just release the thing so we can move on.

@OG_Phenix: The Internet contributes to that problem, unfortunately. People have always focused on the negative, but because the Internet disseminates information so quickly, brands come down just as quickly. It makes rebuilding that reputation that much harder.

@Derek Erdmann: Exactly, which is what makes me think this is just an attempt to stay relevant in light of Apple's imminent announcement.

@Benzido: You mean like when Palm foolishly announced the Pixi the same day as a major Apple announcement?

@OG_Phenix: "Generalizations in the tech world generally do not last very long."

@Odin: Isn't it kind of silly to compare the two before we've even seen Apple's concept? At least the Courier videos were from within Microsoft, so there's some meat to it. Everything about the Apple tablet is rumor and conjecture.
