I just use Audacity and LAME to encode my ringtones. On my old phone, I used Audacity and Windows Media Encoder. On phones before that, I held my phone up to a speaker turned way up and recorded with the voice memo feature.

I find it hard to believe that it can actually wake up the computer from hibernate mode. On most computers, hibernate is exactly the same as a full off on the hardware level. I might work on some bios roms, but probably not the general consumer's computer. Nonetheless, I think I will give it a try and see if it…
General Purpose:
I'm currently using my brand new Microsoft Arc Mouse, and loving it! It's possibly the second most comfortable mouse I've used (Second to Intellimouse Explorer), and the most portable one I've used too. Goes great with my notebook.
I really am itching for an IRC client for the iPhone/iPod Touch. I had one when I was jailbroken, but I can't understand why they can't have one for the 2.0 firmware with Apple's SDK. AFAIK, there's nothing in the restrictions that would ix-nay the IRC. (Also, it'd be cool to have an SSH client (not server) on the…
Can you do "mkdir music\beatles\greatesthits\disc1\..\disc2\..\disc3" to make three folders there?

I did this exact same thing, except instead of zip ties, I used hot glue, and made a lid hinging on bent paper clips. I also made a latch using a paperclip and the shutter from the lid disk. I keep my rechargeable AA and AAA batteries in it.
WRONG!
@IchabodMoira: I second that. That is one big one for me. That and Tab Mix Plus.
I'm sure I could easily do this in autohotkey too.
NEVER install System Mechanic. I had System Mechanic 7, it contained a rootkit. Was a PITA to get rid of. It broke a lot of programs until I got it fixed.
At King Soopers, you don't need your card. At the checkstand, just press the SooperCard button, and type in your phone number that you wrote on your SooperCard application, area code first, then hit enter. At the self-checkout, tap "Alternate ID", put in your number, hit enter.
I really love Notepad++. But I'm not allowed to use it for my Java class. Not allowed to use anything with syntax highlighting. Not allowed to use Texter either.
@digitalgravy: I use noScript.
Numbers 10, 9, 6, and 5 are nowhere near harmless. I know a bunch of idiots who would immediately FFR without even troubleshooting. In a corporate environment, an overzealous and poorly trained admin would do that. You could easily lose your job pulling any of these in a corporate environment.
